Sail away with me, my love! We are loving this sweet capture by @bluerosepictures! ⛵❤ "Stephanie contacted me from Texas where she lives and told me she and her fiancé, Greg, would be coming to Seattle to elope before their sailing trip around the San Juan Islands. She originally was going to elope at the Four Seasons Hotel. But she told me she really wished she could get married near water and sailboats, as they are both avid sailors and feel the most at home near the water. I told her about the #centerforwoodenboats, which is one of Seattle's little unknown gems on Lake Union. My husband and I actually got married here three years ago. When she saw it, she was so elated and happy, she said it was the perfect place for them to get married. I knew they wanted to capture the beautiful wooden boats in their portraits, so I had them step into one of the docked boats and cuddle up. I saw a small sailboat coming back in from a distance and it was just one of those moments that you can't plan that is just awesome. I told them to wait for it and that when it got closer I wanted them to kiss, I took the shot right before it passed and I think the red boat adds so much visually to the photo. Sculptural beauty brought to you by @calliemanionphotography! "Ambra of @queryevents and I wanted to create a really classic New York editorial with clean lines and an elegant feel. This #Marchesa gown really stole the show, and utilizing the @nypl as the backdrop was the perfect pairing. The shoot feels high-end, yet effortless, and serves as great inspiration for a NYC wedding or elopement! . . . Show only what you want to keep producing. If you aren't booking the type of clients/weddings you want, create a shoot that represents your ideal client and real bookings will follow!" — Callie Manion ⠀

Our hearts are breaking for our friends in California who have lost everything to these wildfires. Do you love art and want to help? Here’s your chance, head on over to our dear friend @emilymarchpayne to purchase some beautiful images of California. All proceeds will go straight to families who have lost their homes.⠀
“Since the early morning hours of Monday, I've watched my city, my home ravaged by one of the worst wildfires to hit California. More than 2,000 homes have been destroyed and thousands of lives changed forever. It's been one of the most unsettling, frustrating and scary experiences of my life. ⠀
While I can't change the situations for everyone affected by this tragedy, I can try to help. For the time being, all profits will go directly to the families who lost everything. I'll be donating profits to various GoFundMe pages to help families in Santa Rosa and Napa get back on their feet, as well as directly to several of our friends who have lost their homes.” — Emily March Payne ⠀

@rachelgomezdotcom#pvtakeover Day 3 // One for Thee, One for Me // I had a teacher who used to repeat that phrase to us. Shoot for your client, and then shoot for yourself. Ring shots have always been a challenge for me, so I try to get one every time that is entirely new and different. I get what my client wants and what works for publication, but then try something totally different. Many times I fail, but then I get a photo like this one. ⠀

@rachelgomezdotcom#pvtakeover Day 3 // Get Personal // Photographing the important people in your life allows you to get so much closer to intimate moments like this. When my clients have to stop a session to feed their baby, I usually give them privacy. This time, my client happened to be a very dear friend, who requested an image of her breastfeeding her daughter. It’s such an intimate moment, and a fleeting one at that. This is one of my all time favorite images. ⠀

@rachelgomezdotcom#pvtakeover Day 3 // Collaborate // For three years, I’ve worked with designer Rebecca Schoneveld to photograph her lookbook. I always look forward to seeing her newest designs and being inspired by the locations she’s chosen. This image was taken last year in New York as the sun was setting. Every year, this shoot feeds my creativity. We just completed our third shoot together in September, just in time for Bridal Fashion Week.⠀

@rachelgomezdotcom#pvtakeover Day 2 // Try Out New Film Stocks // We all have our favorites and we tend to stick with them. For me, the combination of #Fuji400H and #Portra800 get the job done, giving me beautiful and consistent images that support my brand. That said, I’m so happy I shot this sunset with #Ektar. The tones and color were so much more dramatic (I also shot Fuji for my own comparison). Using the same #filmlab can help you maintain consistency, while giving you room to play with other film options.⠀
