Food for thought
Do you pay attention to how you communicate with other people? Do you think about words that you’re using and the way you speak?
I never thought too much about that, till the day I became a mum
I’m so aware of the fact that everything I do will influence my son some way. Not only action but also words. I want him to grow up being confident and knowing his value. I think that’s something that lots of us struggle with less or more. And that’s something that impacts our life in so many different ways
This is a huge topic, so in this post I will touch only one part of it, but it’s something that is really important to me
What do you do when baby/toddler/kid cry?
I live in Australia, I think kids have lots of freedom here, lots of possibilities to explore the world on their own, which is really great
I saw this kind of situation hundreds of times, example: kid falls while running too fast, or just not being coordinated enough. Obviously starts crying, parent or caregiver responds with words “Stop crying, up you get, nothing happened. There is no need to cry” .
Why we don’t accept them crying? why we won’t let them to express their emotions? Why we tell them that nothing happened?
This is just a simple example, but can be translated to so many different situations .
I know that lots of people don’t even think about it, they say that cause their parents said same things to them, cause they hear their friends saying same things to their kids, etc.
But if you reflect on that, by doing this we are teaching kids from young age that they are not right in what they feel, that they should not express their emotions, that some emotions they have are better than others (we accept them when they are happy but we don’t want to see them crying)
How they can become confident when they learn that they are not right in such a simple and obvious thing like feeling sad, hurt or just unhappy about something?
Just to be clear I don’t judge anyone and I don’t want to sound like I know everything (cause I don’t 🤪). I just want to bring your attention to that, cause probably you’ve never even thought about it... Share your thoughts if you want 🙏
The Darkness 🌫️ This song and mood of this video kind of describe where I've been the past couple of days. My stomach condition causes me to be sick about 75% of the time (Gastroparesis- not fun), but I've lived with it for the most part of the last 6 years, so you would think maybe I would be used to it- psychologically, sometimes I feel like I should be.
To add on top of this, since I can't eat very much without throwing up, I have lost quite a bit of weight from what I used to be. Yoga helps me with my condition, thank all that is good, and I love filming and sharing it.❤️ I want to state clearly- I in no way want to shame anyone for their body shape, and I feel I am often put into this stereotype of skinny yoga girl. 1) I have a serious condition, and that is why sometimes I get so thin (not a choice), and 2) It is really no one's business, but I love love love this community, it picks me up when I am feeling my worst, motivates me to get on my mat when I don't feel like it. It motivates me to share with anyone who may be suffering that they are not alone, and there is hope through yoga. ❤️ ...just a little more about me.

Day 2 of #yogasutram is Sutra 1.14 with #camatkarasana aka #wildthingpose
Sutra 1.14 (sa tu dirgha kala nairantarya satkara-asevito dirdha bhumih) says when practice is maintained with sincerity for a long time without a break it becomes solid.
To me this is essentially what K. Pattabhi Jois was referring to when he said “practice and all is coming.” Two years ago a couple friends and I participated in a 100x100 handstand challenge - 100 handstands a day for 100 days. In the beginning it was about the physical and to satisfy my ego. I wanted to master this difficult pose that looks really beautiful and strong. The challenge was difficult, but without fail everyday I did 100 handstands every day. I started to find I became more focused, my breath became deeper, I felt more stable and stronger in other poses and eventually it actually became fun! I haven’t mastered handstand (yet) and can’t hold it for very long, but I still practice it almost everyday (it’s been almost two years) because the process taught me the value of dedicating myself to something (even if it seems insignificant), that what seems impossible can become possible with consistency and working one area can carry over into many other areas. I had a fairly regular practice before, but I found this challenge helped to get me fully rooted in my consistency.

it's precisely on the days when you don't feel like hustling that you should tell yourself to just get up and do it. don't listen to the excuses in your head - consistency is the key (even if it doesn't seem like it sometimes). go out and break a sweat, whatever time of the day, wherever you may be - it's what your body needs and you know it. GO.

omg i finally turn 30 today. but then again, age is just a construct, and 30, well, it's just a number.
plus, i guess it helps that i don't look, think or act my age (i still get mistaken for being 24 😂). anywho, i'm ever grateful for surviving 3 decades, for the people i've come to know (and those i've lost along the way), for every little experience (both good and bad), for lost opportunities (and new ones unfolding), for good health and for love and happiness.
i'm come so far from who i used to be, and i'm truly privileged to be where i am today. here's to life ahead!

So I love jewelry. I actually started making my own jewelry when I was 10 years old after my great grandmother gave me a kit (see my story for something I made). Wearing pretty pieces is one of the things that makes me feel all those pretty, sparkly, feminine feelings. I feel beautiful when I wear something shiny with pretty colors. So today, I want to know what makes you feel beautiful? This is a tricky question. I know we do not always feel beautiful. Many of us (myself included) have struggled with feeling secure in our inner and outer beauty. I think it’s just like anything else, something that can be practiced. It comes and goes.
Some of the other things they make me feel beautiful are baths, kindness and laughter, pretty colored clothing, sunshine, and looking at my own eyes. So what makes you feel beautiful, inside or out?
Stay tuned for more giveaways! Feel free to enter any or all of them. Winners will be announced March 26th!
