Don’t trust the scales ⚖️ A common mistake for most dieters is to chase weight loss over fat loss. If you think they’re the same thing then you’re very much mistaken.
For you to look the way you want at the end of your diet then you need to be losing fat but there are numerous things that affect your body weight that has nothing to do with fat such as: 🔹 muscle mass
🔹 water retention
🔹 glycogen stores
All of these affect your weight as much, if not more than fat. So while they can be a useful tool to track progress, they’re just that... one tool amongst many. Use with tape measurements, progress pictures and how your clothes fit for better tracking.
Tip: Want to get a more accurate reading? Weigh yourself every morning at the same time before food and drink. Take an average weight at the end of the week. Compare your weekly averages against each other rather than daily measurements. This accounts for fluctuations.
I joined the DVCC following a heartbreak
💔 and a knock of confidence. I was skeptical about how I was going to fit in working out alongside shift work, but the early morning sessions proved to fit in to my day nicely (although I'm almost always very grumpy at 6am - I leave 50 minutes later feeling a lot more alive!) My aim initially was to get a "revenge body" but it turns out that I really enjoy the sessions and challenging my body, which is greatly assisted by the motivating and understanding trainers here.
My aim has now changed from that revenge body, into a personal goal to be strong, not skinny.
DVCC is the perfect environment for this and I am so glad that I stumbled across their advert on Facebook! Both the trainers and the sessions have provided me with varied and challenging workouts, and the community of people who attend are non judgemental and equally supportive.

Rest day is sooooo important!! I usually wait for my body to tell me when I need a day to rest and that was today 😌 Week One was mainly food-focused but this week I’ve been introducing workouts which I can already feel in my body 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 I feel stronger and walk with better posture because I can feel my back and legs getting stronger. Whew!! Now that I’m getting ready for bed I kinda wish I went for an easy walk but oh well 🤷🏼♀️ Next rest day 🙃 Can’t wait to hit up boxercise again tomorrow! 💗🤸🏻♂️🥊

Yes, I've suffered from a severe binge eating disorder, body dysmorphia. Food and the way I looked controlled my life. .
I slowly changed my mindsets in regards of training and food. I don't see food as the enemy that will make a gain fat, I don't see training as a punishment because of overeating or a way to burn calories. .
I see food as fuel, as pleasure, and exercises as a way to be better, stronger, fitter.
I want now the best for my body, and I give it the best. Surprisingly, I feel and look the best I've ever be ... .
Treat your body right, it will give you it back ! .
This took me years ! 1 step foward for 2 step back .. BUT STILL A STEP FOWARD ! Lots of dedication, hard work, and learning.
I'm happy to tell you I'm now in a place where I'm happy. Happy with myself. I accept myself fully. With "imperfections" that I don't even see as imperfection anymore. It's just me. And nobody is like me. I think it is so wonderful. .

Did some grocery shopping and low key meal prep. I just shopped the other day so this was mostly produce and some woohoo deals I couldn't pass up. Day 1: The Master Cleanse
This year, I have so many goals for every aspect of my personal and professional life, but one of my major goals is to re-discover loving my body. Since going vegan, I continued to eat processed faux “cheese”, faux meats, and an array of other processed food-non-foods, that though vegan, still weren’t good for my body.
Thus, I am embarking on a body transformation journey in preparation for an undeniably amazing summer, which I intend to thoroughly enjoy! The last 5 days I have cut all processed foods out of my diet, in preparation for this 10 day master cleanse.
Today is day 1, and I am preparing to flush my body of toxins, excess weight, and bad habits!
You’ll be seeing many changes over the course of the next couple months, so stay tuned- I am excited to share my body transformation journey with you.

Quick tip of the day, try leaving overthinking aside and start your day with a big smile. Spread positivity because you may NEVER know who’s starting with a bad day.
