A squadron on board my deployment took on what they called the Chopstick Challenge. There was about $2,000 on the line for anyone who could eat with ONLY chopsticks (even in port) the longest. No forks, spoons, or hands! Only knives to cut what was necessary. Obscenities were often screamed in the wardroom when someone forgot to follow the rules and were disqualified. Many challengers failed the day a plate of cookies were placed in front of them during a meeting and they instinctively grabbed one. #savagetactics
Their main reasoning for the challenge was what they WOULDN’T be able to eat because of the chop sticks. 🍦
What I saw was that anyone eating with chopsticks just took FOREVER to eat. 😂🍜
Ultimately the slow eating was really the biggest benefit. You can eat anything with chop sticks if you try hard enough. 🍕🍫🍔
But eating slowly allows your body to process your food better... thus signaling that you’re fuller sooner. You’ll eat less!
No need to go eat everything with chop sticks... unless you’re on deployment again and need something to entertain yourself 😂
Just slow down. Add some time to each meal. Put your fork down between bites. Breathe. And enjoy a conversation while you eat.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from #thequestrian 🎄 A fantastic year with this team of horses who only came to me mid way throughout this year! Onto bigger and better things in 2018! Thank you to everyone who have supported me and the team! #MVKing#Wardroom
