First race of 2018, it should have been the last one of 2017 but was postponed due to the weather. A great event as usual from @ruralrunninguk and was an added bonus to see @shannonbrown6003 at the start line.
My @tomtomsports watch decided to have a funny 5 minutes today, so I had to use my phone to track the run which was well out. The course was slightly over 10k, so I definitely got a pb, I'm just not sure what it was 😕 #twixmas10k#trailrunning#pb

Race #5 run and done. Austin Distance Challenge completed. Challenging yet fulfilling. Two years ago, If you had told me that I would run one half marathon, I would have scoffed. Now I have done 4 in a year’s time. So thankful for my Fleet Feet RR running family, who continue to motivate and push me. Now it’s time for bloody mary and epsom salt bath and much needed R&R. #runningtribe#darethedistance#trustthetraining#austindistancechallenge
First run of the week and it was a good one. I love those runs when everything just feels right, let's hope I have a few more like that 🏃 #marathontraining#brightonmarathon

This, this is what I needed. No, not the fog so thick that I was decked out in my high-vis gear and couldn't see more than four tenths of a mile. Tonight's long run was just what I needed. It was amazing and reminded me to trust in the training.
My journey to the 1st KLM Full Marathon in Aruba in June ( 42km ) starts today 🏃♂️⚡💪
It will be 16 weeks of pure adventure 👌
My 1st Full Marathon was the San Francisco Marathon in 2015 as you can see my finishing time in pict. 1: really great run. I've trained for it 💪
So, it's time to go for the challenge again and this time in your own home country 💥
In preparation for the Full Marathon i will be doing 2 races as part of my training.
1. I will do the Aruba International Half Marathon in March, this time not to break my personal record from last year 2017 as you can see in pict. 2. It will be just a training.
2. In April i will be running the "Ragnar Relay Southern California 2018" together with the i-Run Aruba Team. Big Event 300km in 2 days from Huntington Beach to San Diego.
Last januari this year i went for a 35k with my running buddies just to feel the distance as you can see my time in pict. 3. This time was without running long distances for a while. My longest run i did was 19k last year december.
So, I'am more than ready for this challenge🔥
Follow my journey. For the longruns i will be posting the event so everyone can join 👍

Happy to ✅ off this weekend’s long run. 10 miles easy, with a fast 3 mile finish at half marathon pace. This type of quality session is all about anticipation for me. I spent all 10 miles thinking about those last 3... will they be tough? Will I be able to knock them out? How bad will my legs hurt after? The answers are always: yes, yes, and not so bad. I need to stop doubting my abilities and realize I’m getting stronger everyday. 💪🔥🤘 #trustthetraining I also get a lot of motivation from all you IG folks! So thanks!!
Goals without Discipline is an illusion. Discipline without Commitment is unfocused. Passion without Purpose is reckless unbridled Chaos. Focus and Commit. Desire and Obsess. Lead your passion Flow like water and Stoke the Fire. Harness it, Nourish it. Don’t just Believe in it. Own it.
Fire within, Water Balances, Earth supports and roots as Air Flows through. Everything you need is at your fingertips and within.
Good 8 mile run in the night air. Inside and out. Body and mind engine is running smooth. Nowhere i want to be but I’ll get there and when i get there i still won’t settle. Everyday is a step.
"The Devil whispered in my ear, You are not strong enough to withstand the storm, to which I reply back, "I am the Storm "
Soo many times in training I find myself questioning can I handle this, can I withstand it, the demands of running 6 days a week with 2 kiddos active in sports and clubs 6 nights a week, working full time, then throw in health issues and physical challenges that always seem to be added into the mix, it all just piles on, creating a STORM... you can let the demands break you or you can rise above and let them make you. I chose the latter. I AM THE STORM. "Turbulence is the price you pay for flying high" Rise above it, be The Storm. .... this quote has been shared with so many times this week and it is speaking to me more than ever as this marathon approaches this weekend and then I had to laugh when I look at the race day forcast, Storms! The Lord did not give me the ability to run these races to have these little blunders stop me, no he gave me this strength to handle it all, to become it, to be the Storm! No matter what happens this weekend, if I reach that finish line in my goal time or not I know it will not be from lack of effort. Watch out Mississippi the Storm is coming! "And once the storm is over, you wont remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. But one thing is certain, when you come out of the storm, you wont be the same person who walked in" #run#running#runnerscommunity#RunAlways#runnersofinstagram#instarunners#goals#raceweekend#pr#marathon#rcrunneroftheweek#procompression#runchat#runthankful#runnerslife#runwithpurpose#inspiringwomenrunners#womensrunningcommunity#mindovermatter#fit#seemeRLAG#movemorefitness#storm#earnit#igrunners#trustthetraining#phil413#insta#justbreathe#workisdone

I'm really enjoying this week's training so far, even though it is absolutely freezing ❄❄ It feels good to be back on the plan, I'm changing my days around a bit to fit in with life but sticking to it as best I can! #brightonmarathon
That was really tough going but such a perfect day for a run by the water. I've really let my training slip the last 2 weeks and I noticed in today's long run. It should have been 13 miles but just had nothing left after 10. So today I'm giving myself a kick up the butt and will be back on the plan this week!! #sundayrunday#longrun#givingmyselfakickupthebutt#backonit

First race of year and it was clean... Arm all over the place and no aggression but I can’t complain with all my inconsistency with training 🤦🏾♂️ #OnTheRise#TrustTheTraining
Well, that's a wrap. 18 weeks and here we are. All I can do is trust the training and be thankful for my body and what it allows me to do. Thankful for having the movement illness robbed my mother of. As always I will run in honour and now in memory of her. May your presence be with me at every mile. #bethankful#begrateful#behappy#runhappy#trustthetraining
