Chasing the BEAST from the EAST 🏃🏼♀️🐗 Clapham Junction 👉🏻 Victoria Park 😊
My upmost respect to all the runners I saw that smiled back at me through the snow 🌨❄️ blizzard. Too many words to describe that run but here are a few I thought of during the 18.33miles.... savage, horrendous, brutal, horrific, awful and extremely unpleasant 😫
Thank you so much @btbelfast2 for being an absolute hero meeting me 16km in to run the rest in the very strong head winds. 💨 super hero! 👏🏻 Now time to enjoy @alxcw birthday 🎂 🥂 #marathontraining#longrun#londonmarathon#vlm2018#beastfromtheeast#missionmarathon#seenonmyrun
So nice to get out & see @bezjay 💕
Decision made not to run @reading_half tomorrow. Still incredibly ill and congested, I mean I'm exhausted after walking 100m 👎 and running tomorrow would just set me back even longer. I love love LOVE Reading so its a tough decision for me BUT I can always run it next year! All of you running it tomorrow - enjoy that Yorkie in your finishers bag for me please 💙 (Honestly more upset to be missing that chocolate bar than the medal 😭👎😭👎)
Dreadmill 💀 the downturn of the weather was not stopping me from running today, even if I wasn’t too keen... decided to go for time on the treadmill instead of miles and man was it tough 🙆🏼♀️ the treadmill takes away the good points of running like the change in scenery, terrain and up/down hills which made it really hard to ‘zone out’ 💭 there was nothing glamorous about it, the pace was slow and I stepped off 3 times but 60 minutes on the treadmill is done and dusted ✅ one more week of training down - can I just be speedy now please?? 💫 #girlgains
We started our weekend in Edinburgh with some parkrun tourism! Really enjoyed Portobello parkrun and despite running into a blizzard at one point, I managed to get my fastest ever parkrun time! 😃🏃🏃♀️🎉
Pleased with today’s tempo run from coach @clarita_2505 plan 🙌🏼 It was so windy in parts (which was useful when it was behind me!) and I’m proper annoyed that it says 4.9 miles cos my watch def said 5 🤨🖕🏼
PUSHING LIMITS || Throwing it back to September last year at @tough_mudder! A fantastic event but no where near as challenging as my first mudder back in 2014. This year I want to challenge myself, to step out of my comfort zone and most importantly, try new things which I enjoy - that's what life's all about right! Sure, staying within your comfort zone minimises stress and anxiety, but it's also healthy for us not to! Studies suggest that trying new things enhances your creativity, supports our brains through the ageing process and allows us to perform at our optimum level.
To push myself this year I'm signing up to several new events. My first event @reading_half was supposed to be tomorrow, but I've dropped out to put family first. Others I've got my eye on are @spartanraceuk Super 💪🏼,@virginsport Hackney Half 🏃🏼♀️and the Women Only @humanraceevents Triathlon 🏊🏻♀️🚴🏼♀️. Have you signed up to any events this year? Don't be afraid to challenge yourself 🙌🏼
A very bitter cold run this morning
On Thursday I pulled my quad I am now keeping it warm and loose as today it was hurting having said that I decided to have a nice chilled run today and I managed to run all the way round 3 times minus the hill of course. it felt easy to run it I've noticed I drop my pace on the 2nd lap and get a bit lazy then on the 3rd lap pick it up again so I'm going to work hard at keeping the same pace all the way through .
When I started parkrun I never thought I'd see the day that I can just run it at an easy pace and come in at an average time this let's me know I'm ready to push hard again and set new goals.
Another attempt at this easy pace thing. Could still be a tad slower I think. My usual route was closed due to tree maintenance so I went around and about and I didn’t get lost, so that was a bonus. It’s blowsnowing here but the roads and paths are clear.
What an amazing weekend at the launch of the ASICSFrontrunner uk team 2018. So many awesome, inspiring, friendly people. I feel so super excited for the challenges that lay ahead for me and my incredible team mates. Thank you so much @rushbynature & @gazzpash for this amazing opportunity you have given me . .
I was a little anxious about the weekend & going away . I can count on one hand how many times in the last 18 years I have left the children but in running I have found a passion & fire that lights up my soul . Not because I’m fast or winning races but just the pure and simple joy of lacing up and getting outside. :
I feel so lucky to become an Asics Frontrunner that I am grabbing it with both hands !! My children & family are my world but I truly believe that by running or finding your passion #imoveme makes us happier, more balanced , better parents, careers & people . Find your passion guys 💜
Did 4 miles in Birmingham & 6 miles when I got home for my #sundayrunday :

Race bibs arrived for the next 2 Sundays 👍Spending the next 4 weekends adding some 🌟blinggg🌟 to my medal box 🎖 While also racking up some marathon training miles ✔ Lets face it, they're more enjoyable when there's a shiny medal waiting for you at the finish line 😀
