Jut tried out @canadianrunning pick for best urban shoe for 2017 from @underarmourca! These are UA Charged Reactor model. I don’t think I have any complaints or issues with these shoes! My feet were always the right temperature, when ever I stepped into a puddle I never go a soaker and I never felt any slipping on the changing ice, water, snow and dry concrete surfaces of the sidewalks. They tied up well around my ankle and my foot never slipped around inside. They also fit very well with my insoles which is a huge plus! I highly recommend you try these out for yourself this winter! #CanadaWill#UARun .
Because I couldn’t face the cold this morning...(is it spring yet?!)
It’s been a ‘knock the wind out of your sail’ kind of week. I’m hanging on by Emergen-C and and a constant reminder that January is already half over!! Annnnd I broke in a new pair of Hokas this morning...they might just be the lucky charm that gets me back to spring racing. 🙃
Six treadmill miles to welcome hump day!
Happy Wednesday, friends!
Los Angeles Marathon Training:Week 7✔
I was already *shookth* from this week before it even began. When you get that email on Sunday night for the week ahead, it's like you know what you're getting into but it's still a surprise every time, haha. Well this week called for an 8mi run at comfy pace, 8mi at RP, 5 hill repeats, a couple easy runs, and an 18mi long run. Sometimes you have to remind yourself that you chose to do this. 😅
The 18 miles weren't EASY but they were GOOD. Miles 16 & 17, I remembered how just a few months ago I was doing these runs on my own in the summer. To help me get through the last few miles on long runs, I use a mantra that syncs with my breathing and cadence (& I don't dare look at my watch until it tells me I've ran another mile). When my watch hit 18 and I saw how I'd hit my desired pace, I remembered why I keep choosing to do this over and over again. 💜

Opted for a walk up Runyon Canyon Park instead of doing recovery miles today. While I was up there looking down at the city, I realized that you could trace the route of the @lamarathon. Recognizing the buildings of DTLA, Century City, and knowing that the ocean was just off to the side. This realization only magnified the task that I and others who are training have, while putting into perspective the accomplishment that comes with running from the stadium to the sea. 🎖
How typical of me to take a off from running, only to think about and analyze it in a different way. 😅
I’m so excited to be a part of @teamtiux this year! Tiux compression socks have become something I don’t run without!! I’ve tried all sorts of compressions and these, my friends, are my favorite! Check out my bio for a link to their website and use discount code:

Grateful for another pain free run in the books. Slow and steady is the name of the game right now. Just one step, one mile at a time.🏃🏼♀️

Seven progressive miles (8:32, 7:59, 7:48, 7:45, 7:44, 7:29, 7:17)
But about those shorts...in January!! —

Hill Repeats: hands down my least favorite workout. But in a marathon full of rolling hills, a must. I guess I'll thank myself later. ↗
Warm up, drills, 5 x 0.25mi hill repeats, cool down.

No snow here, but sometimes it’s hard to be motivated when you’re always running in the dark. After a series of 7 hills with the @island_striders I am happy I showed up!
Los Angeles Marathon Training:Week 6✔
Another week, another challenge. But this time, I definitely felt like I came out on top. After our 14 mile long run last week, my legs started shaking as soon as I stopped running and I knew the rest of day would be a little tough. But after our 16 miles this week, I felt the complete opposite. I even felt that I had ran the hills stronger than before. These are the little moments throughout training that keep you going. My goal to is just to recreate what I did leading up to our long run because it would be great to have the same, or even better results as the weeks roll on. Almost at the halfway mark! 👊
This was not only week 6, but also the first week of 2018! Saw a lot of people kick their health/run goals into high gear with the #4080CHALLENGE. I hope that same fire still burns as the year progresses! 🔥

I visualized this exact moment so many times. On Sunday that dream finally became a reality. My coach told me to run with my heart, and that’s exactly what i did. I wish I could do it all over again😭 #postmarathonblues#runcim#CIM35

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! 😊 Ran a few moderate-paced miles on a bunch of hills tonight since I'm going to be laying off the intensity VERY soon! 😬 I did my first cryotherapy session yesterday so my legs felt awesome tonight! I'm really tempted to go again soon. 🤔On another note, I'm working tomorrow so no Turkey Trotting for me. 😞 I will, however, be running a Turkey Tempo between work and dinner (which will be my last hard workout before CIM!). I plan to enjoy my holiday so I'm earning those calories! 🏃🏼♀️🍗🥂Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving, and good luck to everyone racing tomorrow! ❤️😘 #run#runner#running#marathon#marathontraining#marathonrunner#cim#runcim#cimtraining#runhappy#runalways#teamtiux#runspiration#tapertime

Finally home and my mailbox was full! The newest @teamtiux sock design was in there along with some cool Tiux shades! #teamtiux#running
One week ago I was crossing the finish line at CIM, my 7th marathon and fastest one yet. Marathons are freaking hard, both mentally and physically. But nothing is better than seeing that time on the clock, and crossing the finish knowing that all your hard work payed off. I finally wrote a recap of the race, so click the link in my bio if you want to check it out! This race was everything i could have asked for, but now I’m ready for the next challenge. Bring it on Boston! #CIM35#runcim

Mile 26- Smiling through the pain, knowing i was .2 miles away from achieving my goal😊
Yesterday feels like a dream. Don’t get me wrong, it was a tough race and it felt like a grind the whole way. But, I never gave up. When those self doubts were starting to creep in, I quickly pushed them away. I came into this race with a goal and I wasn’t going to leave without reaching it. I can’t say greater things about this race. Those rolling hills will really beat up your quads, but the comradery and team work I felt on the course was incredible. I’m so inspired by all those who ran an Olympic Trials Qualifying time yesterday, and I hope one day I will be one of those women. A huge thank you to my Dad @jaykopelson and boyfriend @jake_soprych for cheering me on. I honestly don’t know how I could have done it without you two. And to my coach @pardonruns for the constant support. Lastly, thank you @mckirdytrained for putting this 2:55 time goal in my head and believing that I could do it even when I thought you were crazy! I love the marathon so much and cannot wait to see what’s in store for me next. #runcim2017#CIM35
