Flow-ting in on Day 9 of #upsidedowniscomingtotown bc #toetaps#toetaptuesday & flow-ting are integrally linked. With @upsidedownmama@kinoyoga@umstuff@omstarsofficial 💛 Floating, toe tapping & even holding a HS are relatively new to me (less than 2 years). I started pressing, just barely from blocks, & holding, for a couple seconds, a HS in Jan ‘15 when I first got on IG (thx to my teenager 😆!). I saw ppl doing amazing things & joined a press HS challenge. I laugh thinking I could learn to press in 15 days bc I could barely hold a HS & only practiced handstands randomly when they came up in a yoga class. I’d been practicing yoga >20 years & teaching >3 yrs, but did not have a consistent HOME practice. The combination of a DAILY home practice, IG inspiration & support of an #igyogachallenge started me on a whole new yoga journey. I met a group of super skilled & helpful yogis, & I learned to hold a HS, press, float & toe tap ... from IG?!! The progress I’ve made at my age (over 50) surprises & amazes me every day. I read another IG yogis post yesterday (from #igyogafam friend & fellow #resolutionhandstand cohost Leigh) @leighyogipilot & just LOOK 👀😱 at her #transformation thru #dancerpose. She also shares how she started her IG journey & gives advice on how to start yours!!! So here I am, hoping to inspire you to flowt!!! 💛 Key elements for me: hamstring length, active spider 🕷 hands & use of finger pads, leaning shoulders just past hands, cat like back w core engagement (think crow), hips HIGH, low belly compression/connection w upper thighs, breath linked to movement, inhale look forward, exhale fully & come to tippy toes & THEN lean or hop or #toetap or float forward from standing FF or DD, or back to chaturanga. 👍🏻💛 NOTE: I limit my time on my hands to 5-10 min a day to maintain healthy wrists. Don’t overdo it!! Just a little every day. 💛 This is a speedy progression (if ur still reading 🧐!) of standing toes taps, crow taps, DD taps & flow-ting forward & back. Crystal has pastel rainbow hair with an ivory body and two-toned, glittery pink & blue eyes that are felted and embroidered. She has a sparkly golden horn and gold stars embroidered on both side of her body, and her chest. Crystal wears a fur-lined saddle with gold trim, pink tassles and glass opal beads. She has glittery mini-wings with mother-of-pearl trim and stands about 15cm tall.
