If you are a pet owner, don't take get offended by the topic I would like to discuss. I have just been thinking about it lately, and decided to ask for opinions of others.
So everyone would agree that pet owners are usually more responsible, less selfish and happier people in general.
They take care of their pets - feed them, take them out for walks, clean up after them and etc. It is not an easy task, considering how busy we all are nowadays.
They also tend to feel less lonely and have higher self esteem. Whether we admit it or not, we all need to feel that we are loved, and that gives is confidence and positive energy. What is a better source of an unconditional love if not from your adorable pets?
Pets also seem to have a great life - a shelter, care, food.. But think of it in a different way. Do pets actually enjoy staying locked at home for at least 22 hours a day? Especially when they are alone waiting for their owners to come back home?
Not everyone can afford to live in a villa, or perhaps not everyone would want to live in one..And I think that is the only way to keep a pet, to make sure they have a yard to spend their time at. Especially those big dogs, trapped in a tiny appartment, how do they feel? Or for example whenever I see huskies outside, here, in Dubai, where the temperature in summer time is 50+ degrees I can't help it but feel bad for them, cause even being a human who doesn't like winter, I feel like I am suffocating in this heat/humidity. I love huskies btw, being a cat person I find huskies so amazing, but this climate is definitely not suitable for them.
Now my question is, do pet owners actually care about how the pets feel, or it is more about our desires? The desire to have/own a pet.
