I ordered a lovely Albariño to go with my shrimp gumbo and crab and shrimp cerviche. A lovely medium bodied dry white wine from Spain to pair with my seafood.
My hubby got tilapia and crab and ordered a Cabernet from CA. He knows very well thanks to me that a Cabernet is not the ideal pairing with seafood but he likes what he likes.
Bottom line. Drink what you like.
That being said he did have his red wine slightly chilled cause he again because of me knows it would taste much better not drank at “room temperature”. I’m so happy to have changed his world thru wine.

The grapes come from mature vines of over 50 years of age, but the wine spends only three months in oak, preserving their natural fruit profile. Vivid crimson-purple in the glass.

No DC Sunday is complete without brunch & I made @barcelonawinebar my spot of choice this morning. This ‘Wine Geek’ flight was all around AMAZING... the Vegas Atlas was definitely the show stopper & the pours were heavier than I knew possible. 🤭🤷🏽♀️🍷 definitely recommend and can’t wait to head back!

What a wild, little adventure this has been. Today we visited a beautiful beachside property and they outfitted my car with a GoPro as Nanette, Robbie (realtor extraordinaire) and myself zipped all around town gabbing away about all things Sitges.
I broke down and gave my dress a wash as it has stretched out to double its size. Haha! Seems to have been able to handle the washing machine and came out in one piece. Thank goodness! One more day of wearing it and then I set it on fire! 🤪

Acho que dentre os vinhos espanhóis, meus queridinhos são os do Priorat! Impressionante como me apaixono fácil por eles. Degustei esse da foto com amigos no @domfranciscorestaurante da Asa Sul e já fiquei in love! 😍😍😍🍷🍷🍷🖤🖤🖤 .
O GR-174 é um blend de Garnacha (35%), Cabernet Sauvignon (25%), Samsó (15%), Syrah (13%), Merlot (9%) e Cabernet Franc (3%). O nome é uma homenagem ao caminho que atravessa essa região! Tem até um mapinha no rótulo. Só uma curiosidade, a Cariñena é conhecida como Samsó na Catalunha. No entanto, em algumas partes de lá, Samsó também é sinônimo para Cinsaut, o que gerou esse conceito muito engraçado que eu vou copiar certinho do The Oxford Companion to Wine: "Samsó, confusing Catalan name used for both carignan and cinsaut". Se até a Jancis Robinson acha confuso, imagina euzinha 😂😂😂😂

O vinho, apesar de jovem (safra 2014), estava excelente! Muito elegante, ótima estrutura, com taninos e acidez marcantes. Boa complexidade e intensidade aromática. O vinho é tão equilibrado que nem percebi seus 15% de teor alcoólico. Além disso, a mineralidade que eu tanto gosto nessa região estava lá. Claro que ele ainda tem um tempo aí para envelhecer, mas mesmo assim, se aparecer outra garrafa na minha frente eu abro agora! 😎😎😎😎 .
Recomendo muitão esse vinho bonzão! 🙃🙃🙃🍷🍷🍷 .
