So Sunday's race turned into a bit of a sufferfest...
I did my hometown XC race, the South Molton Struggle (12km). From the start I set out way too quickly and I really paid for it. 4km in and I could already feel my heart rate getting out of control and my legs tightening up. From there I just had to will myself to the finish line and try not to give up too many places on the way. Luckily I managed to avoid a truly epic blowup and salvaged a 5th place which I was pretty happy with considering how bad I felt. Not a perfect race but it was a fun day catching up with everyone from the local running club. Looking forward to my next race, the Endurancelife Dorset trail marathon.
Countdown underway, t-minus 36 hours until the biggest one day skimboarding event in the world.
