Let me tell you the reason why you're still living in desolation: fear. You're afraid to accept your insecurities and vulnerabilities, you believe in living in delusions than to step out in reality. Your fear coerces you into believing that as long as someone doesn't accept you, heal you; you won't move on. We rely on seeking acceptances than creating a home for ourselves within us. A place to confide in peacefully, embracing ourselves and conquering fears.
Learn to accept your flaws, parts that bother you. Talk about you fears, seek help. There's no shame in asking for help, loving yourself. Do whatever makes you happy, it's okay for life to be a little bit up and down. None of us has to be perfect; none of us is. Stop drawing lines, staying within the parameters; sometimes you've got to cross lines to live. But, stupendously.
Spirituality and healing go hand in hand. This is why a lot of the great spiritual thinkers write self-help books. Since a huge part of the spiritual path is becoming more aware of both the light AND dark aspects of yourself, there shouldn’t only be talk of yoga and affirmations and the high vibe part of spirituality—there must be a way to deal with the darkness too. Everyone is traumatized, so everyone has a darkness waiting to be explored. But everyone’s traumas look different and vary in severity, so everyone’s healing journey will look different. But it always starts with awareness. Once you’ve gotten past that stage of realizing what the trauma is and what PURPOSE it has in your life, you are now in an empowered position to do something about it. This is the missing key for a lot of people: purpose. At that point, you can be thankful for the lesson, and make lifestyle changes that breed healthier habits. You can then do the meditation and the self-care and things that help MAINTAIN the new vibration. Just don’t do all of the maintenance work without doing the emotional work first, that’s the foundation.

If your goal doesn’t scare you and excite you at the same time then it’s not worth pursuing.
Found a quote from one my favorite thought-leaders that rounds out this week's theme of thinking less and doing more, perfectly: "Worrying is not an action. It's a distraction. Not even the smallest problem can be solved by thinking about it over and over again." @isaiah_hankel .
Remember the fact that 25% of our energy goes to thinking. We may not be able to re-invest all 25% into other outlets with mindfulness, but may we do our best to bring it down a few percentage points each day and energize action in ways that get us closer to that which we are working toward, instead of creating a bottleneck with our minds. 💥 Stay tuned for next week's theme and see you in class on Monday @hollywoodboulders at 7:15AM and 8:30AM!
Music is a powerful tool! •
So I’m listening to an album that came out 10 years ago! & MAN what memories came rushing through my mind when these songs blasted through my headphones! 10 years ago I was a youngin, trying to figure out what I thought was life... When at that age all I had to do was live & have fun. Oh I did though haha. Rebellious, hot-headed, and just longed a place to feel belonged. 10 years ago I lived in a single wide trailer home with my mom for the 1st time again... running around the streets up to no good smh. 10 years ago I went to my first PRIDE parade in Chicago. 10 years ago I would ride around in the backseat of my friend’s car with the music blastin on a ride to the city for absolutely no reason 🙄😂 10 years ago my stepmother (who raised me) was busting her ass off working 2 jobs as a Nurse to make sure we were taken care of. 10 years ago I moved to Cali... where my eyes were opened up to a different lifestyle of hope & discipline. 10 years ago I didn’t appreciate what I had at the time; for which I miss and am very grateful for now. Life was good. Life was GREAT. If you’re wondering what album I’m listening to... it’s The Carter lll. Songs are an amazing time traveling tool. Music is very powerful. The mind is so unique that it is able to travel back in time all because of certain melodies! It’s nice to reflect on the past. Makes you realize how far you’ve REALLY come. Especially in times of doubt. May even reconnect you as to why you even started whatever it is that was started to begin with. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #happyfriday#fridayfeels#msadriannev#music#grateful#bestself2018#selfdevelopment#selfhelp#selflove#loveyourself#gratitude#abundance#fitness#fitfam#fitspo#fitspiration#fitnessmotivation#womenwholift#womenwithtattoos#healthylifestyle#positivevibes#positivelifestyle#fitnessblogger#lifestyleblogger#motivation#myfabletics

*new blog post up about the decision that transformed my own life..link in profile!*
Today marks TWO YEARS since I made one single decision that transformed my life forever.
I decided that I would no longer eat foods that were causing distress in my body, and would choose only foods that fueled me physically, spiritually and emotionally.
That single decision two years ago allowed me to live a whole new life—full of energy, vitality, health, and passion.
I became a certified health coach, 21 Day Sugar Detox Coach, and will be onto my master’s come September. .
I have learned so incredibly much about my body, health, strength, resilience, and my self as a whole. .
YOU too have the power to transform your life. It all stars with one thought, one decision, one action. What’s stopping you?
Your thoughts and beliefs are the creators of the events that take place in your life.

Connecting with the divine doesn't need to be difficult. Here's one way. (Of course, there are other ways, too).

We have started to appreciate dark skin finally but people are treating it like a trend. We praise women with dark skin today and forget tomorrow? no, when will dark skinned women be looked to as beautiful without being half naked and all greased up?

There’s an old proverb about a Native American tribe who had harnessed the power of nature, and could make it rain at will.
This tribe’s rain dance was the envy of all the other tribes. When they were doing their raindances, they could only get it to rain about half the time.
The other tribes had researched everything they could. They looked at this superior tribe and tried to copy their moves, their timing, their positioning, but they couldn’t replicate this tribes perfect success rate.
Eventually, the chiefs of the other tribes approached the chief of this rainmaking tribe and asked him how they did it. “It’s simple,” the chief said, “we don’t dance and hope it rains. We dance UNTIL it rains.” There’s much we can learn from this chief’s wisdom. If you want something to change in your life, don’t expect to have created that change in a week. Don’t expect to have created it in a month. Don’t expect to have created it in a year. Keep pursuing that change UNTIL you make it happen.
I took “Tell Me More” with me last week for my trip and I have to say that I think author @KellyCorrigan and I would get along. ha. In a nutshell, she shares some stories from her life that helped her learn to say hard things. .
I don’t think there was anything particularly special or profound about the stories she shared except for the fact that they were so dang relatable. If they weren’t relatable to me as a wife and a mother now, they were relatable as a daughter and sibling and I just kept thinking, “yep, been there” or “glad I’m not the only one who has these thoughts run through my head when I’m going crazy”. It was the honesty of it and how normal the stories were that appealed to me. .
We’ve gone through a lot of changes in our family lately. Our daughter is growing up, we’ve made life changes, there is the passing of our friends and family, quarrels and hurt feelings with others—and I’ve got to say that there were several of the phrases and experiences that really hit home for me (“tell me more”, “No” and “I don’t know” are among my top), especially since my grandmother just recently passed away and Kelly shared not only the passing of her own grandmother, but also her friend and father. .
But “I was wrong” really smacked me in the face. She talks about how the phrase “I’m sorry” has been ground into us since we were small children and that over time, saying sorry has taken on a lot of different meanings, sometimes not meaning sorry at all. So to be clear, she learned to say “I was wrong.” This just made so much sense to me and I like it so much more than just “sorry”. It’s one that I’m truly incorporating into my apologies for the rest of my life. .
What are some things that you are learning to say or do that have been hard for you? .
one day you’re going to be sitting in a car on a road trip with people you love or on your way to the beach or a party or a place you’ve never been. you’ll have the windows down and you’ll feel the wind against your skin and the music in your bones. you’ll all be dancing and singing along to your favorite songs, but once you see that you’re about to pass through a tunnel, you’ll all stop so you can hold your breath and make a wish once you’ve made it out. but midway through the tunnel, you’ll realize there is nothing you can wish for because in this moment, you already feel as if you have everything you’ve ever wanted. and you’ll let out a breath and laugh as you realize how perfect everything is, making everyone else break down laughing too and you’ll all keep driving through the tunnel, the thought of wishing for more completely gone from your mind because in this moment, you feel as if you have it all. you feel alive and you feel as if being alive is finally enough.

💌 bad study habits to leave in 2017
• cramming the night before. do a little every day and get a good night sleep before the test!
• procrastinating. promise yourself you’ll do 5 minutes of a task you’ve been putting off for a while. you’ll be surprised how quickly that 5 minutes turns into 10 and 10 into an hour and before you know it you’ll be done and able to enjoy guilt-free leisure time!
• not asking for help. make the most of your teachers and classmates who want you to succeed. don’t suffer in silence!
• saying yes to everything. it’s important to try new things but it’s also important to have enough spare time to see your friends and get enough sleep!
• being distracted. turn off the tv. turn off your phone. focus on studying so you can get your assignments done as efficiently as possible so you can enjoy your free time!
• not having a planner. this doesn’t have to be a beautiful bullet journal. just make sure you have a way of keeping on top of everything you have to do so you don’t get overwhelmed whether that’s in a store-bought diary or in you phone’s calendar!
• eating (too much) junk. fuel your body and your mind with fruit and veg. if you’re at university try cooking in bulk to keep costs down. you’ll be able to concentrate better if you’re eating well!
• not taking breaks. your brain needs to take breaks, even if you have a big test coming up. for every hour you spend studying take a 10 minute break and stretch/make a snack/take a shower/call a friend!
• not rewarding yourself. take time to be proud of everything you’ve achieved so far. enjoy the success you’ve worked so hard for!
