I feel like a kid staring at an aquarium sometimes.

The worst kind of plagiarism are done by atheists 🤓
Because they slap a label on God’s creation, they feel an ownership of it, like the laws of nature are somehow different now that humanity has been able to explain it.
Darwin, Newton, Galileo, all devoted believers who had a world view that cantered on God as its creator. They helped the rest of us better understand how God works.
The same logic also has to apply to Christians who ignorantly demand a strict adherence to written doctrine despite having little to no understanding of the context and meanings of the verses they use.
Here’s the good news: most of us are actually rational, intelligent people who live in the space in between extreme views. We accept science because it makes sense and we expect faith because it feels good.
Back in Palau for my last field trip! Spend the whole day preparing settlement tiles for my experiment. While there is going to be diving soon, this is also part of doing marine ecology field work. 🛠
Thanks to my great volunteers we got almost all of it done. Shout out to all the great people who volunteer their time to help out with science! I wouldn't be able to do it without them. .
Why I do #scicomm:
1. #Science is for everyone. Its our moral duty as scientists to share knowledge utilizing any possible medium. .
2. To break #stereotypes... people in science are normal human beings ... not robots... not emotionless! They have a life very similar to others... they enjoy sharing their adventures.. their likes and dislikes... just like anyone, anywhere!
3. Scientists have many many bad days in hope of one meaningful finding... they can feel very isolated or lonely ... spending 3/4 of the day in lab or at desk... #scicomm connects them to the rest of world.
4. I #scicomm to spread awareness and motivate young generation to take part in #STEM fields for a better #world.
Posting this two days late sorry @bethshehata but it’s still #britishscienceweek so maybe I can sneak in a one off post in aid of #girlsinstem
I grew up believing I could do anything I set my mind to. I never thought about whether my career was male or female, I just did what I enjoyed and what I was good at.
I’m a scientist
So what do I do? Now that’s a tough one as my career isn’t easily identifiable like many others e.g engineer, doctor, teacher etc...so when I say I’m a Clinical Development Scientist...what does that mean?
Well anytime you open up a medicine box, look for that piece of paper telling you what it is, how it might help you, how to take it and what it will do and what harm it might cause. My job is all about generating the information that goes into it. My days are extremely varied, and could entail anything from talking to other scientists or doctors about their discoveries to designing a new clinical trial to discussing the results of a life saving medicine with the European Medicines Agency or the US Federal Drug Administration.

“I accept that there are some things I can’t do. But they are mostly things I don’t particularly want to do anyway.” — #StephenHawking, born 300 years to the day that Galileo died, died on Einstein's birthday on March 14, 2018.
Hawking lived with the debilitating Lou Gehrig's disease since he was diagnosed at age 21 and given two years to live. Hawking lived 55 years with ALS, however, and is regarded as one of the most influential scientists in history, known especially for his study on the origins and design of the universe. His theories changed how we understand black holes and relativity and the Big Bang. #science

British botanist and early photography innovator Anna Atkins was born on this day in 1799. Atkins is among the first women to ever produce a photograph and her book, “Cyanotypes of British Algae,” is the earliest book of photography ever published. • #AnnaAtkins#Cyanotype#Algae#Science#Photography • Anna Atkins (British, 1799-1871) | Laurencia pinnatifida var. Black holes are the most enigmatic and exotic objects in the universe. They’re also the most powerful, with gravity so strong it can trap light. And they’re destructive, swallowing entire planets, even giant stars. 📸: Edgeworx Studios, LLC #NOVALens#BlackHoleApocalypse
