Friday feels: flight mode through the forest!! 💚
Sometimes I hate on shiftwork a little as it leaves me with a seriously messed up sleep cycle and running sleep deprived is not so fun. Also, it’s impossible to have a regular training routine! Buuuut.... it means I get 4 days off in a row minimum and can spend week days like today out running in this lush green goodness when the majority of the world is still stuck indoors at work!
‘Magic happens when you don’t give up, even though you want to. The universe always falls in love with a stubborn heart....’💕
I definitely have a stubborn heart; I’m proud of it. It isn’t always helpful but when the @alexia_clark challenge threatens to defeat me it comes in useful, and even more on race days! I’ve got a 10k HECTIC trail run next Sunday on the 2012 Olympic Mountain Bike course. Better start preparing....😉 Happy Friday fitties!🏃♀️💪😘
Happy Friday!! I got home and got straight to work getting a 5k elliptical interval workout done followed by two rounds of a runner's HIIT! I was tagged by my beautiful #solesister@cdn_runner_mom for a #funandfearlesspic! I don't have any super adventurous pic's or moments and after seeing the inspirational @runningmummioof4 post, I decided to also use a pic of me right here right now. Close to 4 years ago, I made the conscious decision to do something for myself and start running. I had no clue what I was doing, I felt silly running out there when I felt like I was going to pass out after running for a few minutes and my family thought I went a bit crazy 😜 Seeing how far I have come now and how I don't even think twice about snapping a post run/workout selfie and sharing all the details about my run without feeling the slightest bit self conscious, or how my family has embraced my new normal and that I have learned not to fall prey to the mom guilt for wanting to be a strong and happy woman, It just proves that we can all achieve that inner fearlessness. Tagging a few women who constantly inspire me! Feel free to play along if you want. Have a wonderful Friday fitfam!!
Seven miles down. Longest distance completed, and I didn't even get flashed today. I'd say that's accomplishments all around!
My training consists of a lot of intentional walking. Today I walked every seventh minute. I find I go farther and have loads more energy leftover with this kind of plan. My times are lousy of course, but luckily I don't care. I'm not telling you people my times ;)
Walk/running isn't always talked about in the world of running, which I find unfair. There's no shame to it in my mind, and a surprising number of marathon finishers do it. Wanna start a Couch to 5k program? Literally every plan will start you off with walk/running. It's a form of what fancy people call "interval training."
I try to stay intentional with my words when I update internetland. My longest run yet is 5 miles, and my longest distance completed is now 7 miles. .
One or both of those numbers will eventually be 26.2 miles.
The biggest thing my husband does to support my love of RUNNING is that he simply understands that it’s good for me💗 He sees that when I’m out pounding the pavement I come back a healthier happier version of ME ✨He tolerates my crazy alarms and my endless talk about hydrating and gels even though it sounds like a foreign language to him 🙊 He cheers me on , celebrates my wins and comforts me when things don’t go to plan 🙅🏼♀️ ( did someone say Sydney😩) So on that note I’d like to wish my WONDERFUL husband 💙 a very Happy Birthday 🎁 I couldn’t go on all these amazing RUNNING adventures if it wasn’t for him, I really am one lucky girl 🏃🏼♀️J x
📷Throw back to the day I became a MARATHONER
Well it was one heck of a day at work 😑 so when I got home I knew I had to run and cool off! Feeling much better now ☺️ RUNNING is seriously my passion and stress reliever 🏃🏽♀️I don’t know what I would do without it. Have a great night friends and thanks for reading my rant!
