I am delighted to announce that a few months ago I signed a long-term deal at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in cardiology department. It comes with a very heavy heart to leave the boys in blue at Bupa as it’s been an incredible 21 months with the clinical first team. But I’m now ready for my next adventure and have signed a deal with the NHS for an undisclosed fee and made my first team debut at GOSH today.
Seriously though. If anyone ever tells you that your dreams are too big. You get them to call me, OK? You get them to slide into my DMs, OK? I'll tell them to S.T.F.U. Just because they are too scared to take a risk, afraid of failing and too frightened to jump. You know, I have failed over and over. I had to leave a job as a Sport Scientist at a football club because a new manager decided I didn't fit their philosophy. I failed two modules in my first year at university of my undergraduate degree. I didn't get into my first choice university because I didn't get straight As. What I'm trying to say is that I've failed more times than I've succeeded, but all those failures have led me to GOSH, the world’s largest heart transplant hospital in the world and the world’s most famous children's hospital. You know, I look back now, and I'm thankful. I'm so thankful for every 'unfortunately you have not been successful on this occasion' and I'm even more thankful for not fitting the philosophy at that club. She was right, I don't. I’m kind, compassionate and brave. I’m so passionate about the lives of others. Walking through those door today, was the first time I stop and whispered, I did it. I am so proud of myself. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

#medalmonday so I think I’ve finally processed yesterday! #longpostalert⚠️ It was a strange one...after the run show and being up at 5:30am on Saturday I felt absolutely shattered come Sunday morning. Stayed in a hotel sat night and didn’t sleep well at all, my hopes for a good race were slowly seeping away...then the weather ❄️...I felt sick in our hotel room and was pacing feeling all hot and bothered, I really thought I might DNF! Sounds all very dramatic to then go and #pb 🥇
I know I can run a half marathon but I really am working hard to up my pace and be a better runner I really felt my anxiety was just up there yesterday! I know I should just enjoy it and there will always be another race but I had to dig so deep at mile 11, all I thought about was the message from Steve Edwards on saturday...pain is temporary but victory is forever...if you want something bad enough it will hurt to get it! To see @tarikq77 at mile 12 with a gel was just gold! I got there with wobbly lips crossing the finish line and a massive 5 min pb! So happy!
Approaching camp on the approach to Pico de Orizaba (5636m). Did you know Mexico had mountains this big? #RoamGlobal 🇲🇽

HOW LONG IS A LONG RUN?
I am soooo excited to have been given a spot with New Balance to run the London Marathon.
In order to ease myself in gently I did a 'long run' of 5 miles and it got me thinking. How far do you have to run for it to be a 'long run'? Yesterday's run was the longest of the week but I don't think that it really was a long run.
I'm thinking that it needs to be over 10k/6M
What do you think? #marathontraining#ukrunchat@newbalanceuk@londonmarathon
No running today on my rest day- only taking care of kitties waiting for furever homes. Ive been volunteering over a year here and for the most part im happy to play with them and send them off to their new famlies. There has only been 1 I was tempted to take home. Little Zumba here is the now the second. She has totally melted my heart 😻 #runnersnotrunning#restday
Post treadmill run cool off and snuggles with little man this morning. 5 solid miles that felt well within my comfort level at [9:13, 8:57, 8:41, 8:20 & 8:58]. I have started setting my treadmill at a slight incline to help build strength and better simulate outdoor running, so everything feels a little harder than it use to but I see definite benefit.
A couple months ago I remember wondering, when will this start to feel easier? When will I start to feel like I am back in my groove again after pregnancy? I am finally feeling like I am getting there. I finally feel like I have my base built back to the point where I can really push myself and hit some higher mileage and faster paces.
Last night I got in 3.21 miles on the treadmill, random distance but exactly what I needed to push my monthly total to 100 miles. 105/150 miles done for January. 🏃♀️💪
Happy Monday! Wanted 2 easy miles, hit 8:16 for the first, felt a little bored so just decided to go flat out with my rat out for the second. Managed a 7:08. Fairly happy with that tbh. Got a one mile race at the end of April. Would love to be around 6:30🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Slightly long winded post. So apologies. Not that long ago I weighed over 15 stones. My weight fluctuated. I ran here and there but nothing serious. Back end of last year I said 2018 was going to be my year. I upped my miles October, November and December and I have taken on the #1000milesin2018 challenge. You can achieve great things with hard work and determination. Tonight, it was cold and windy but do you know what? I just ran a half marathon on a Monday night. Don’t get me wrong it’s not been an easy journey. YOU can achieve what ever YOU want as long as you are willing to put in the hard miles (literally.). So pick a goal/ target/ event, it can be anything, write it down. Put it in your wallet/purse and carry that goal with you, Day in day out and get on that path to achieve it! You can do it; just believe in yourself! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #running#believeinyourself#runfatboyrun#runner#run#youcandoit#goals#weightloss#behealthy#halfmarathon#5km#runfattyrun#striveforgreatness#weightlossjourney#instarunners#runnersofinstagram#runningcommunity #13.1miles
Don’t think of them as Hill( think of them as ‘mounds of opportunity.’ .

Really nice to be back at the hills last night . I love the club runs, running in a group always makes me push that bit more & the fact that our coach chases us up and down the hills shouting at us 😂 to give that bit more really gets you emptying the tank !! When the going got tough I just tried to hold on telling myself to dig in that bit deeper as I’ll need this extra level come April 22nd .

4:66 miles of hideous, dark, sleety hills of torture last night with my darling sis @dle001 & a great bunch of AA running buddies 💜 & let me tell you it feels GREAT to be back on them !! Happy hump day 🙌🏻 #hilltraining#hills
