Exciting news!!! Kenneth entered his name in the #leadville100 lottery and got in!!!! I am SO excited for him!! 😍
Also, today ended up being an unplanned rest day! Life happened, work happened, sleeping in happened. 🤣 I pretty much didn’t plan ahead and ended up spending time with Kenneth when Ellie went to bed, and I don’t regret a single minute! 🤗

Happy Track, or shall I say, Treadmill Tuesday! 😂🏃♀️ I just returned from the gym where I had the pleasure of doing a speed session with the amazing @erinsrunnerdpt! (Who taught an hour-long yoga class after this, don't ask me how she does it!) It was super motivating to be running beside a major badass, and it certainly pushed me to work harder. 🙌Tonight's workout was 4x1.5 miles with .5 active recovery in between, with a 1 mile warm-up and a 1 mile cool-down for 9.5 miles total! I was super happy with my splits of 9:09, 9:09, 9:09, and 9:11 (about 6:19 per mile). Time to roll, stretch, and SLEEP. Tomorrow is going to be a goooood rest day! 🙌🎉 Hope everyone else is having an awesome night! 😘❤️ #run#runner#running#runalways#runhappy#marathontraining#marathon#marathonrunner#goalchaser#speedwork#runninggirl#runnerslife

Anyone who has run a long race knows how meaningful it is to see a friendly face cheering you on...thank you for supporting me Dan & Jess! You guys have no idea how much your presence meant to me this weekend!
I just registered for marathon #4️⃣!!! See you in August @edmontonmarathon 🏃🏼♀️💙 Since I crossed the finish line of the Okanagan Marathon in October, my goal has been to qualify for the @bostonmarathon in 2018. My original plan was to take it easy until January so that I could start training for a spring marathon feeling refreshed and healthy. Unfortunately, I’m not where I wanted to be. Between finishing my Masters, the holidays, and a last minute trip to Australia, I’m not feeling fully recovered. I know my body and I know that if I start full on marathon training in the next couple weeks, there’s a very good chance that I will wind up injured. When I saw that there was a race in August in Edmonton (only three hours away from me), I knew it was meant to be. I’ll spend the next couple months focusing on rest and speed (oxymoron much!?), maybe try for a spring #halfmarathon PR!?!? and then I’ll be feeling fully ready to chase Boston in August when I start my training in April! And it will be a new city to add to my list of places I’ve run! Ending today and starting 🐪day tomorrow on such a high! I love the thrill of signing up for a race ✨
Track Tuesday (without a track 🙈). Today’s workout was 8 miles total including 4 x (200, 200, 800) with equal recoveries. 200s were @ 5:50/mi avg and 800s were @ 6:07/mi avg. 🏃♀️✨
Real talk: The track (or track workouts) used to be where I felt most comfortable - short distances with quick speeds were always easier for me than longer workouts or races. However, now these workouts have become mentally tough since I often find myself comparing paces to my previous (pre-pregnancy) workouts and my times are nowhere near where they used to be. Today I had a great workout (even with the 27*C temps!) but still found myself a little upset that I’m not where I used to be, or where I felt I “should” be. Then I had to remind myself that this doesn’t make my any less of a runner - this is where I am now, and I’m proud of all the work I’ve put in to get here. Remember to give yourself grace and be thankful for all your body can do 💪🏻🙏🏼.
Today’s my rest day! 😴 Tomorrow night is back to track! ..
I’ve been wanting a hydration pack for so long and I’ve finally dropped the 💵💵 on one! After a few hours of research and back and forth, I decided on the Nathan VaporHowe, named and designed with ultra runner Stephanie Howe in mind 🏃🏻♀️
I originally wanted a men’s Nathan pack, but decided that getting a woman’s specific fit would be a smart idea. This pack came highly recommended, great reviews everywhere I saw online, and has so much storage ill hopefully never need to purchase another one for the foreseeable future
I struggled with this purchase because I often don’t feel like a ‘real’ runner worthy of any nice gear.. I’m chubby, slow and haven’t run a marathon yet. But I felt like I really need this for my long runs and I know I deserve it 💪🏻🙂
