Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up, it knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn’t matter whether you’re the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you’d better be running. #runnersglobe

Athletes need to enjoy their training. They don’t enjoy going down to the track with the coach making them do repetitions until they’re exhausted. With enjoyment comes the will to win. ✊🏻🔥 .
Heres a sneakpeek of a unique way of resistance sprinting that @arjunajay400 introduced to their Trainees to substitute an uphill run or sledge running or even a parachute resistance running. ✊🏻💯🔥

An excerpt from Coach’s last note to LA Marathon athletes coached by the lab (here on their last Long Run warmup): “I know the tendency, during the taper, is to obsess over the race. But resist wasting your vital energy by worrying. You’ve done the work already. You know what gear you’ll be using, you know your fuel strategy and we’ll discuss your pace strategy on the phone. But ultimately, it’s just another weekend for you at this point… Which was exactly my intention all along. Only now, can you truly understand why I had you doing 20+ mile runs, months out from the race. To most, this sounds absurd. Perhaps it is. But as I’ve said before, THIS is how you make "marathon specialists”, rather than marathon finishers. The workouts have been revealing your potential to you (us), with each passing week. Now all that’s left is to show up and do what you know you can do. It’s NOT a pace on your watch. It’s an intensity in your body. A ferocity in your spirit. An absolutism in your will. No one said it’s not going to hurt. But this time, you are ready for the hurt. The hurt is just what you eat for breakfast on the weekends. You are now a seeker of the very thing that scares the hell out of most runners. They call it "the wall”. You call it “the end of your warm-up”!!” -Coach Blue referring to the overdistance + overspeed philosophy that is the backbone of the lab programming. #unlockpotential#evolveyourRUN#runfierce#runfree#LAMarathon@maurten_official fueled!

Damnit. We lost our sweet Iris tonight. She had carcinoma. Swipe and see the right side of her nose, swelled up. That was her tumor. Cancer was eating her up. She crossed the rainbow bridge with Team PKNYC @mae3232 while she passed, who gave her hugs and kisses from all of us who loved her, and wished we could have done more. You don’t get a break from sadness in rescue. And we owe the vet $1,600 for her end of life care. Many of you have donated to her care up to now. Please donate $5-$10 in honor of the life Iris lived. Ducking cars, drinking from murky water, with green flies hovering. Fighting for food. Freezing in winter. Don’t kid yourself - these street cats suffer in cold weather. For some reason, we got her at end of life when we could offer her a final month of warmth, safety, a full belly always, and medical care. And a calm ending, which would have been tragically drawn-out if she didn’t find her way to us. Iris - you may have been one of many, many tnr’d cats in NYC. But once you became ours, you were loved, and you were valued. Run free our sweet angel. We hope your heaven is everything you ever wanted! #weloveyouiris#runfree#nomorepain#weadoptedyou#ourchild#ourangel#neverforgotten 💔🎈
Horses on the highway!?! Atlanta traffic has always been bad, but #Saturday morning drivers had to deal with a different kind of "horsepower" on the highway. 🐎🐎🐎🚗
A small herd of horses decided to take to the streets and ended up blocking #traffic on Highway 78 eastbound right near North DeKalb Mall.
Police are currently trying to round the 10 horses up. Traffic had slowed to a standstill while motorists stopped to watch all of the excitement. 🐴
Decatur's Little Creek Horse Farm, the place where all the #horses escaped from, posted on Facebook that they were thankful to DeKalb police for helping keep people and horses safe. "Steps will immediately be taken to assure this doesn’t happen again," they said.
