My best friend reminded me that, despite my hardships, personal failures, and bumps in the road, I should not lose sight of everything I’ve accomplished this year.
I think I can speak for everyone when I say we all get a little lost in our heads sometimes. We’re all hard on ourselves. We push and push and push ourselves to the point of breaking because we know we’re capable of the best. But when we fall, we fall hard. And all at once, our colorful world seems forever dark.
I’d be lying if I said I had the best year ever. From losing my grandfather to dealing with depression and an eating disorder, I’ve lost my way. And I still haven’t found it. But isn’t that the point of life, the journey? These bumps in the road are what will rise us to the top. And while they seem never ending, the light at the end of the tunnel is always there.
Last year, I decided to do something crazy and sign up for a half marathon having no experience running. In January 2017, I ran my first 10K having never run a 5k. In May, I completed my first half marathon in 3:15 hours, which was a record breaking phenomenon for this struggling diabetic. During the summer, I pushed myself to complete the runDisney summer virtual series by running three 5ks in the months of June, July, and August. In September, I successfully completed my first ever rundisney challenge weekend by running the Double Dare 5k, 10K, and half marathon. And in November, I completed the Avengers 5k and 10K.
So what if I couldn’t complete the Infinity Gauntlet due to an injury? Does that take away from the fact that I accomplished incredible things this year? Does it disregard my wins for the year? Absolutely not. It took me an entire week to come to peace with the fact that I DID NOT FAIL. I wouldn’t be able to keep my head up if it weren’t for the incredible friends I’ve made. I’m just going through a story arc in the tv series of my life right now. Something interesting to keep the fans watching.
I’ll be back better than ever next year. I promise.

I have perfected that heel strike. I mean, could my form be any better?! 🙄🤣
Happy anniversary to The Little Mermaid 🐚🐙 and my girl Ariel! I had to represent her twice in #runDisney races, once as the "Kiss the Girl" 💋 version complete with Sebastian serenading me/us on my shoulder. Sadly, when I tried to kiss Eric 😗, I was denied 😢. #arielismyfavorite#imreallyamermaid#disneyfanatic

I crave the run.....🏃🏼♀️ I crave the pain, I crave the sweat, I crave the sacrifice , I crave that depleted feeling, Oh and I crave the feeling of victory!! 🏆
Flash back to my last pain free run in June! Yes June !! I crave these clay roads and struggling up the hills only to float down the backside and feel like I'm flying!! My life long love relationship with running comes with its ups and downs. A true test of my commitment, a true test of my patience, how strong can I be and for how long? Well all I have to say is I'm working hard and my comeback is coming. I'll be stronger than ever not only physically but mentally and spiritually ! No matter what you're going through trust that it's part of the process. Just know your time is coming. Use your experience to help others!! Happy Friday my friends!! 😘❤️
Let your smile change the world... but don’t ever let the world change your smile.... It’s finally Friday... WE MADE IT! It’s been a super long week for me... trying to play catch up with my normal life... but I think I’m good now... I mean... I got 10 hours of sleep... so at least I feel good! I got my run done first thing ... and I obviously got dressed in the darkness because my whole matching game is way off.... which throws me off a bit... BUTTT... I just ran 5 miles of hill repeats in the sprinkles ... and I’m still smiling... so there’s that... and I still have a trail run lined up for later... so life is good and I AM HAPPY! Day 17 of the - #holidaySTREAK and Day 536 of my personal run streak! Have a great weekend... I have zero plans but I know an adventure is guaranteed ... xo #runningwiththeCOOLKIDS#streakingwiththeCOOLKIDS

TAKE TIME TO DO WHAT MAKES YOUR SOUL HAPPY!
It’s FRIYAY!! Nothing better than an early morning sweat sesh for my own sanity. As I approach my final week of Marathon Training I look back with a grateful heart. Running is what makes my soul happy and it has been such a pleasure to be able to share my happiness and daily inspirations with you all. I made this account for the passion I have in running (developed throughout my golden soccer elite years) and it truly shows the greatness it has impacted on my life. I understand running is not for everyone but I hope I can inspire/motivate many of you to just get out and be active. I know you can do it; all it takes is one try.
Thank you to everyone who has recently encouraged me as I mentally prepare for this Marathon.
Let’s be honest, I am sooooo nervous but I cannot doubt myself!
Friday Five Miles 🙌🏼
