The topic of running slow to run fast has come up several times this past week; a few times in podcasts I listened to and speaking with my friend @jeph.runs.wincity today. I am learning to run by feel and listen to my breathing and I think I’m getting better at it, but there are still moments when I’m going way too fast for an easy run. Today I think I did a really good job at running easy!
How do you keep yourself from going out too quick on easy days?

Easy five miles tonight. 52 degree weather, so I had to pull out my favorite pair of @oiselle rogas! Long run is set for tomorrow since it looks like it might snow on Sunday! I hope you enjoy the dog and cat photo bombs! 🙈

Jumping out of bed on a snow day like a kid in a candy store......with a few more layers on of course!
Skipped the treadmill for some cardio snuck into my full body circuits and gave a little extra attention to core exercises 🙄 2 of 3 circuits are in my stories, but I'll share it all in an easy to read version 👊🏼🖤💦

You'll have to forgive my cheesy grin and awkward pose, but I'm just super pumped I nailed this workout! Honestly, I was really nervous and almost talked myself out of it during my warm-up😂 I recognize I am a ways away from where I once ways, and I know it's going to take a lot physically but more so mentally to get back there, then go beyond. It's been quite a while since I've hit my short to mid distance paces and my head was filled with so much fear and doubt. But I promised myself to try my best and to not beat myself up because I am a work in progress. Well guess what, I just crushed all 5 intervals!!! And though it was actually even harder for me than I had anticipated🙊, I'm super proud I pushed through and made it happen💪🏃 Now it's back to real work I go for a bit then off to get the kiddos. I hope everyone is having an awesome Tuesday!

This morning I had the intention to do a workout. Then I didn't sleep well and my legs felt fatigued. Plus we got a fresh coating of ice and snow. .
All were just a collection of signs to move my workout to another day. Could I have run outside or on the treadmill? Sure, but would it have been productive...probably not.
So I took a short peaceful walk, enjoyed the day, and moved on.
