Half marathoner x2! My fam grabbed this shot just before I crossed the finish line. Didn't PR today...I was on track for a big one until mile 8 when I was hit by the struggle bus hard. Never expected to end up with some mild hypothermia in Texas, but I'm warm and good now! Ended up within a minute of my last half marathon time so not too bad in the end. I'll get my PR next time! #runaustin18

This had to be one of the most beautiful races I've done to date. Being that close to the mountains the whole race was amazing. This was at the half point and I had to get this shot! #doepicish#runcation#thewholerunner#chasing50
16 miles at about a 10 minute pace yesterday on Chicago’s Lakefront Trail! I’ve always wanted to run this trail (as I see so many instarunners enjoy it countless times) and since we have a 3 day weekend we decided to drive up from Cinci and spend the weekend in Chicago! The weather wasn’t too bad, just a little chilly and windy but the pace felt rough for me for some reason. I think it’s that point of marathon training where I need to start focusing on my nutrition more! Cheers to the long weekend everyone! 🥂

We ran the Cleveland Marathon last year. It rained for the last 13 miles, which wasn't fun, especially considering it was our second marathon downpour of the year, but it was a flat course - great for our IRONMAN Lake Placid training. Plus the Cleveland Cavaliers were cheering us on and the music outside the Rock & Roll Hall of Famee was keeping us moving. Now it's your turn - time to Rock It!
W6D?: after a few days in Scotland I finally managed to get a run in. I’m hoping to run outside when we are in Edinburgh but decided that dealing with the cold and wind and rain and lack of familiarity or running plan meant that the treadmill was the way to go for today. The treadmill was in kilometers, so that was interesting to need to convert the speed 😂 Today is the final day of our three day Highlands trip and we’re going to Culloden and the Callanish Stones (Craigh na Dun for my fellow Outlander fans!). Tonight we heard back to Edinburgh for 4 days before we’re off to St. Andrews. It has been an incredible trip so far.

Anytime I travel to a new place, I explore it through running. You never know what places it will take you. #runcation
Coming off an extreme high of an amazing year of races & new, longer distances in 2016, I had so many goals & expectations for 2017. Instead of running my first 100 miler & achieving some other goals I ended up running in pain for the first 3 months of the year & thought I could run through the pain. Unfortunately, high hamstring tendonitis doesn’t really heal while running which meant 100 miles was not in the cards for this year.
Even with an injury & minimal training (after April) I still managed to run & finish 15 races.
2017 Races (17, 2DNF)
1-10k, 5-Half, 4-Full, 1-30k, 1-35k, 3-50k
Sean O’Brien 50k
Black Canyon 100k - DNF at 40 miles
Griffith Park Trail Marathon
Griffith Park 50k
San Diego Half
Gorge Waterfalls 50k - DNF 19 miles
Canyons 10k - walked
RnR San Diego Half - walked
Mogollon Monster 35k
Ray Miller 30k
Interestingly, except for TRT, SeaWheeze & Chicago all my other races were in California. I think that needs to change for 2018 😉. I’m looking forward to getting my running mojo back & having a great 2018. I have some goals but first & foremost is to have running be fun & exciting again. 😊
How many races did you run in 2017? And what are your big plans for 2018?
