Yesterday, we went for or first long walk/run in a very long time.
It felt good for a while, then it didn't feel so good anymore, then it got better again.
I'm still having the same pain/uncomfortable feeling I was when I tried running again after Ruby was born, although it's not as bad now and only seems to happen when I take big strides.
I hadn't felt it for while so I wanted to see if it was still an issue.
Turns out it is. 😣
It's amazing that I'm still recovering from growing and birthing my baby (almost 9 months later) but I respect that and will continue to let my body heal without pushing too hard.
I absolutely love running, and look forward to being able to running distance again, but I just have to be patient; it'll happen in good time. .
Can you tell Ruby loved it too? 😁 .
“Dad, on Sunday I jumped into the ball pit 10 times.” Wow. “Madison told me that when she jumped in, 2 kids grabbed her by the ankles and pulled her to the bottom. They said they’d been in there for 2 weeks. I think it’s totally possible that they have been.” Hey, what’s the name of your alpaca? “She’s not an alpaca. She’s a cat. And her name is Aurora.” Ah. Why is she in your backpack? “I bring her to school with me because the boys are gone all day and mom does errands and Pilates. I want her to know that I am considerate and care about her feelings, and I don’t want her to be lonely at home.” Ah, I see. Do you know what’s going into that building? “I think so, but I forget.” It’s a CVS. “Oh, yes. Mom says that CVS and RiteAid are sworn enemies, and look: there’s a RiteAid across the street. We’re going to need to hide our RiteAid bags when we go into CVS and hide our CVS bags when we go into RiteAid.” Sounds like a good plan. “Dad, on Saturdays Bobby has debate club and will have baseball soon, and I have ballet, but Joey doesn’t do *anything*.” Hmm. “Mom says we need to figure out how to make him do something, but I don’t know what it might be... Eek, look, someone’s car got booted.” ......................................................................This has been “A 5 Block Morning Walk With RubyJane.” I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed living it. ****Interesting note: this piece was directly preceded in the series by a performance art piece titled “I’m Not Going To School Today And That’s Final”, written and performed by the subject herself.
Thanks for the readership.
