Japan’s Mt. Fuji is an active volcano about 100 kilometers southwest of Tokyo. Commonly called “Fuji-san,” it’s the country’s tallest peak, at 3,776 meters. A pilgrimage site for centuries, it’s considered one of Japan’s 3 sacred mountains, and summit hikes remain a popular activity.
Road trip day eight.
The hike today in the Canyonlands was amazing! However it wasn’t the best part of my day.
After my hike I went around offering extra food, fuel and other supplies to my neighbors since I was going home tomorrow. The first group I came to said that they were leaving tomorrow too and ask me if I would like an ice cold beer. Of course I couldn’t pass that up after a full day of hiking. He then said “I’ll bring you over a little surprise later”. I said “wow thanks” and left to find someone to give my stuff too. The next site over was an older couple who happily took my offering.
Later that night after sunset I hear “anyone home”, as someone walks into my campsite. It’s the guy from earlier, he handed me a bowl with HOT apple crisp topped with COLD ice cream!! Ice cream in the middle of the dessert, what a treat!
Moral of the story, be nice to others and get to know your neighbors. 😁
This week’s Spotlight teaser is a Professor who wanted to realize the dream of home ownership on their own terms. ❝ Five years ago I fell in love with tiny houses. The idea of creating a home for myself while avoiding extreme debt was what initially attracted me. I watched my parents pull themselves up from poverty and make smart decisions about home ownership; but they also worked so hard bitterness creeped in. I'm proud of them but my priorities are different from theirs.
Over the last year and a half many things have changed in my life, including moving 2,000 miles away from home to Northern California. This move has been the catalyst for beautiful self evolution. Moving was more than a simple relocation, it was the materialization of a life long dream, it was evidence of [the] things I could achieve, it was me standing in a mirror and facing my fears. I remember that I left behind all my comfort zones, when I moved to California alone; I remember that I am a brown kid, born into poverty, and I'm thriving.
Along with this life evolution, my tiny house dream has evolved as well; to a bus, then a van, and now to a house truck. Nothing has ever felt so right, the turtle in me loves the idea of carrying my whole home with me everywhere I venture. I know this journey won’t be easy but, most things in my life have not been. My build will set the stage for …. ❞

Had a fun time trying out a new way of shooting my rides.
Waited for almost an year to get my GoPro and take this shot with my visor.
Yes I plan my shots.
Recently got the extension arm for this purpose and took it out yesterday for the first shoot and I look forward to bring in new videos and shots while doing what I love.
Go F*ck Yourself ☝🏼 Yes that's the name of this song.
And I believe @goproin this qualifies for #goprolivinglocal
Because that's how we roll in Haridwar. 😉

Anyone else got a real problem with pulling awkward/weird faces as soon as a camera gets pulled out? Just zoom in our faces! I look like a ventriloquist dummy and Charlie looks like he’s about to throw his toys out he pram!... note to self work on photo face for 2018.
Anyway enough about our faces let’s talk about Texas’ most appropriately named town, Comfort. 2 hours west of Austin this tiny town is a slice of heaven and home to @campcomforttx. This is their little yellow van and we want it!
