Gashaw faced racism, bullying and despite growing up between the 2 cultures she was awarded 2 times in Finland; for academic performance and by her peers... despite her troublesome beginning - she became a source of motivation for teachers and students. She didn't stop there and went on to be awarded a further 3 times at university for superior academic performance. She finished her degree in Kurdistan, in UKH ( University of Kurdistan Hawler) During her time in Kurdistan she hosted various big events at UKH and other internationally known events such as the first TEDx Nishtiman in Kurdistan and the Kurdistan’s orchestra concert for the support of Peshmerga. From volunteering in refugee camps to provide supplies and programs for children, to enriching the lives of her community and family - Gashaw has always been known as a source of support, motivation and inspiration and she continues to do so today by using her experiences to help as many people as possible. This led her to create her page called pekawa gashbin to share her life experience to a wider audience with the end goal to help the youth of Kurdistan.
She has now become a public figure in Kurdistan and provides a support network for people through her interactive lives on social media, her videos and quotes.
She believes that the more people she helps, the more people are able to help others. This is only scratching the surface of a long and successful story... A story written for the people. Check her account @pekawa_gashbin to see more of her works.
