✨Up, up and away!✨~ Peter Pan. Did you remember to play today? (AD) The swings are always this girl's first choice at the playground. But the term "Up and Away" has a new meaning for me now. I love having all boys, there’s just something about the way a little boy loves his mama. Just yesterday my littlest climbed into my lap, and as he snuggled in close he whispered “ma, me wuv to faht on you”. 🙄 There he is folks, my tiny romantic.
#newbooks after ages as we still have a lot of books still waiting to be read and for once the #5yearold has been re reading. Getting new mail with Books is so exciting for both of us and children’s literature today rocks ! and has so much to teach . .
3 of these set in Africa one set in #india about a tribe of people who live in the jungle with animals and #folktales on how they came to be . Thanks for the book recommendation @sreedharelephas . .
On another note #momlife is a #guiltridden life and #momguilt is oh so real. I realise I don’t spend much time reading to the #3yearold probably 10% of the time I spend with his older brother as a result of which he isn’t into books.
His easy happy social temperament makes him more keen to be around people and happier to indulge in conversation with anyone who rings our doorbell and so finds it hard to sit with me cooped up in a room with a book, something both his older brother and I love . Yet cannot help feeling ,if only I had show a little more enthusiasm with the books as I had with N . Oh well. .
On yet another note after all my posts on reading , n at 5.5 can’t read a word . Not even cat and dog. We read together and I totally believe in letting kids learn at their own pace and let their interests guide them . He loves books aimed at 8-9 -10 -11-12 year olds, grasps concepts easily meant for kids older than him but doesn’t want to read on his own as yet.

When it’s not always raining there’ll be days like this
When there’s no one complaining there’ll be days like this
When everything falls into place like the flick of a switch
Well my mama told me there’ll be days like this.

Tonight’s event is infused with a little love from my brother’s wedding at the weekend (swipe left), these flowers are from the table arrangements. Also collecting petals for the kids’ nightly bath - such a beautiful aroma and fun, too 💕
Just 15 mins until the big screen lights up with the moving, inspiring and thought-provoking film ‘Swim Team’, followed by a Q&A with our panel Liz Gosper, a Special Education Teacher and Triathlon Coach, and Penny Robinson, a Lecturer at Monash University, Ambassador at ‘I CAN Network’ and @yellowladybugs_autism

Ever since having Lorik, I have had some occasional lower back pain. I usually tend to feel it when giving Lorik a bath or doing chores around the house. But, since using #MyWiivvs, I have noticed a major difference. The benefits are endless and the feel is very impressive. Make sure to check out my story for some more details.

Bergen and Georgia don’t sleep in the same room at home, but with limited space, they often do end up sharing when we travel. It’s brought some challenges to us routine loving (spoiled) parents!
1. They chit chat and giggle, and unless we give Georgia a head start to fall asleep first, it feels like they’ll never get to sleep!
2. They wake each other in the morning, and end up rising far earlier than usual.
We’d love to hear your experiences, and welcome any advice!

It's all giggles when you find the perfect picnic spot with amazing views.
“Today it was almost 50 degrees. When sheltered from the wind it felt like Spring. Being soaking wet from puddles and being hit with said wind felt like the dead of winter.” 📷 @kimicoopet
Thank you for capturing the little moments like this - reminding us to always make space for the little’s to jump in puddles no matter if it’s above or below freezing. Share those stories #momentexchange
We have been watching the robins for a couple weeks already. Grandpa says it's Spring when the robins start eating worms. So they have decided to bring the worms to the birds. Unfortunately the ground is still frozen. #wetried#spring#robins#letthembelittle#raiseawildchild

Somedays motherhood is literally the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and other days, like today, I just surrender to the negative train where I endlessly seem to take the same shitty loop all day long.
I always find it fascinating that life can be as chaotic or peaceful as you want; yet when I was in a funk today with two kids who are challenging me in every way possible, all my practices for calming down, or trying to reason with myself failed and I didn’t know what else to do, so I broke down and cried on the beach this morning.
Although I’m almost always grateful for our lifestyle, the way we live with 2 children is extremely difficult. There are multiple reasons we choose to live a nomadic lifestyle, but the single reason that keeps me motivated is to keep our family together.
So, maybe today I envisioned myself leaving my family behind and buying a one way ticket to go live in a tent alone in Alaska. But hey, I’m not perfect and neither is parenthood.
I chose not to ride the negative train all day, but instead I focused on how appreciative I am for life, for the opportunity to enjoy another day on earth and for these two beautiful children that literally depend on me for every single thing, and the endless love they give to me, even if their love is shown in peculiar ways at times. #parenthood#TheMitchellTribe

The calm before the storm (literally, as we wait for potential tornadoes to hit our area tonight).
Feliz Dia do Pai! It's Father's Day today in Portugal the boys made lovely cards. Even if our 3 year old thinks his Daddy looks like Mr Blobby. It's his first ever person drawing (scroll for the reveal) 😂 #diadopai#familytravel#portugal

Whooop!! Only 3 more weeks until the spring Tinkergarten session! We are so excited to be in class with Ms. Kandice @as_the_deer_42.1 again!
This will be our 3rd Tinkergarten season! It's definitely helped us to slow down and connect more with nature. We've done a lot of cool, creative outdoor activities that are educational but also fun and engaging. I really love how it's a mixed age environment; Veda has both benefited from getting help from the bigger kids and helping the smaller ones. (I've gotten a lot of good outdoor playtime ideas from their blog, too!)
Use this link below to get $25 off your session price (and I will also get $25 off for referring you)!! Referral code: shawnac37d4

Happy happy birthday to my main man and the very best papa my girls could wish for. Sorry that we've barely seen you, and that when you were briefly home you had to deal with all of us being ill, and also that I ate the last of the ice cream before bed. You're awesome, we love you, and maybe next year we'll be better at celebrating 😂
Because I can’t get enough of that squishy little face or get over how much Amelia has changed in just a few short months.
What that squishy little face doesn’t know is that she’s going to see the ‘real’ Mary Poppins at Disneyland Paris in May with the family. The plan is to tell her the day before we leave, maybe even the morning of because she has no concept of time right now, so I don’t think any of us could bear the daily “is it Disneyland time yet?” over breakfast, every morning 😁. But also, the thought of the excitement and the thrill of being whisked away to a magical place within 24hours sounds like a good plan too. An old work colleague once told me that when she was younger, her parents woke her up crazy early one morning and told her that she was going to London to see Michael Jackson that day. Can you imagine? I adored Michael Jackson when I was a kid (I was obsessed), so although the car journey would’ve been torturous for anyone with me (“are we there yet?” shouted over MJ’s back catalogue), it would’ve been my childhood dream. It’s a story that stayed with me and an reveal that I always wanted to do one day with my kids, if I could keep the secret long enough. I can’t give them MJ, but I can do Disney ☺️. Have you ever surprised your kids with something magical?

“Why complicate things that are really quite simple?” - Mary Poppins
There should be nothing complicated about it. We’re all equal, and that’s it. Happy #internationalwomensday to all you inspiring, powerful, and wonderful women, the men who stand beside us, and the future that we’re raising 🙌🏻💪🏻 (as you can probably tell, it fell on the same day as our #worldbookday thanks to last week’s snow. So I give you our little Mary Poppins) #scenefromtheceiling

This is actually the exact opposite of what I’m doing right now. Instead of donning my chef’s hat and cooking in the kitchen, I’m ringing all of my local takeaways in an attempt to order some food. I’ve been trying for 30 minutes, but with no avail - all phone lines are busy 😫 (seems the whole of Durham saw the snow and had the same idea). It’s like they’re forcing me to cook! I’m not finding this very ‘fungi’ 😉 #objectsforoutfits

Well shiver me timbers, what do we have here? This is what happens when you ask Penny for ideas for this week’s #allthatisthree. Pirates!
And it’s a perfect representation of our day because that squishy little face has been more unruly than any pirate could ever be. We’ve had tears, tantrums, whining, arguing, the whole works. If we had a ship, she’d be walking the plank by now 🙊. When does this mellow? Does it ever? Amelia was always so easy-going and quiet when she was younger, but I’m starting to think that the frightful fours are taking over from the terrible twos! 🙈
( #sponsored) This is how I'll be spending Mother's Day, this weekend - croissants, a huge mug of tea and a lie in! It’s my second Mother's Day and I'm just as excited for it as my first one.
Last Mother's Day Sienna was only 7 months old, so I couldn't request a lie in, tea or croissants. However now she's a dab hand at helping dad make the breakfast, I've given them both my non-negotiables for the day:
1. A lie in, i'll be happy with anything past 7am.
2. Freshly baked croissants (I think I'm pushing my luck for freshly baked, but its worth a try). 3. Tea on tap, I'm hoping to be handed a bell that I can ring anytime I want tea, or need the TV channel changing.
5. The most important item on the agenda, sloppy kisses from Sienna.
How will you be spending Mother's day? Our beautiful robes and my 'mum' mug which I will definitely be putting to good use this weekend are from @cathkidston_ltd. They have a beautiful selection of Mother's Day gifts. #25yearsofcathkidston.
