#tbt to November 14th last year. The last time I’ve seen this tarantula. No, it did not escape. Took this photo the day I upgraded all the T enclosures. It has since made a forever home in the moss and has not once come out. I literally just drop crickets and dubias into the hole where it lays so it can eat. Wish I had a better picture. Flash just saturated the hell out of it’s colors. It looks purple here but it’s real color is more of a dark red orange.

Standing in the pumpkin patch dotted with pretty blue borage, the air filled with the scent of freshly harvested apricots and just a little bit of Dahlia love...... ahhhh how good is summer time in the garden.
This is our last Apricot harvest of the year, from one of my trees that I have 'misplaced' the label for..... one day I will eventually get around to making up some permanent labels for my fruit trees (if any one has any great ideas for long lasting labels please let me know). Although the apricots might be coming to an end it is not all bad news, I have made some delicious apricot chilli jam to remind us of the taste of summer long after the warmth of the season has faded.
