Today, I ran for 2.5 miles straight with no stopping, a new personal best. It was hard. Difficult. Something I thought I could never do
I've had several people tell me if I can run that far on a treadmill, I can run even farther outside. For me, that's simply not true. In order to run that long and that far, I have to be reading a book (picture 3 showed how zoomed in it has to be for me to read it) Getting lost in a book is my happy place where I can control my breathing, convince my brain I can keep going, and run farther than I ever have.
You can't read a book and run outside without an accident.
Outside, my breathing is erratic. I immediately tell myself I can't and I feel defeated because I don't move very far or very fast. I also can't control my speed.

Whoop whoop! Officially got a new PR for my 5k distance! I’ve been able to do approximately this pace a few times but I never went the extra .12 miles to get an official new 5k time. Glad all this running is paying off with my speed! Feeling super excited!! On another exciting note- tomorrow is the first day of spring and we are supposed to get a bunch of snow! What!! Excited for the possibility of an actual snow day. Winter is not leaving without a fight this year ❄️the impending snow storm got me motivated to push through this run and get in a good three miles since I knew the next two days would be less then ideal outdoor run days. I think the coolest part of the specialty workouts like the Dri-Tri this past weekend isn't just watching personal bests get broken and seeing friends push themselves to a new level of accomplishment. That part is amazing and inspiring too, but I think the coolest thing is seeing their response to brutal workouts on the other side of those specialty workouts. Things that were daunting a week ago become a challenge to be bested. Rep counts and distances that sounded infinite in February are approached with a new tenacity and "I can, I will" demeanor before the end of March. There is something so inspiring about seeing your friends define success, acheive it and go hunting for more. This is shaping up to be a powerful week, can you feel it??
