"It was just past 7 a.m. when I arrived at Hatshepsut Temple in the desert outskirts of Luxor, and already my clothes clung to me from the heat. I walked through the temple entrance, rounded a corner, and stumbled across an unassuming middle-aged man who sat pensively, leaning against one of the many columns. I asked him if I could take his photo. With a slight nod, he approved and unknowingly gifted me a token of this place to keep forever."
