I’m in Oregon this weekend for a men’s business retreat and I’m so glad I went out for my run today. We left Oregon for sunnier skies nearly two years ago and I forgot how beautiful the Oregon wilderness is. The North Santiam River is 💯.
Last November 5th, I went running with the shirt that my coach @jesbbonet_run4you gave me after finishing the TCS NYC Marathon 2016.
When I arrived at home after running, I remembered the moment when I decided that one day I would run and cross the finish line of the @nycmarathon
And I decided to make it happen in 2018! Next 4th of November I will be one of more than 45.000 runners that will be in NYC running the Marathon 🙌
Becoming a finisher in this race means superation & freedom to me.

House cleaning and found this newspaper clipping from 1992 about the New York Marathon. I do not even remember ever keeping this. I guess my love for running must have started at a very young age. It was awesome to actually be a part of this great race 24 years later!

Key Points: ▪️As of now we are at our 9 month anniversary. ▪️She is Down 60+ lbs in Bodyweight! ▪️All-Time PR was hit in December with 2:48:13 1/2
Marathon, but she just crushed it last Saturday with a 2:33:06 1/2 Marathon in Boston. ▪️She is going to try and run the New York City Marathon!!! ▪️She a working woman with no excuses and many other obligations who has been determined to meet her goals.
When Allison first starting training with me, she could barely do the evaluation and warm-up. She went through phases of doubt through the first couple of months. However, she stuck to the process more and more of eating within her caloric range and making the necessary social changes and habits in her personal life that contributed to her ongoing success today. She told me the other day, "You know what, I'm going to start being about me. It's going to be a great year. I am so happy right now, and I am just focused!!" That's right Allison, keep being great. Keep being the best you possible. So much love for such a strong, fit, and dedicated woman like her. Good morning from the Queensboro Bridge! It was a tough, freezing cold run this morning. Don’t let the smile fool you- I rode the pain train from pretty much the beginning. And, I quit my run at mile 9... and I was supposed to do 15. As frustrated as I am at this, I’m trying to remain positive. Thanks to some clever planning from @wfinger, I got to run through Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan along part of the 26.2 mile course I’ll be taking on in November. And I am so excited for that day! Mijn laatste rondje als 24 jarige. Ik maakte nog 7km en sluit een TOP jaar af met heel veel mooie races. New York natuurlijk als absoluut hoogtepunt, maar ook @semideparis staat ergens bovenin mijn lijstje 😁 Op naar nog zo’n mooi jaar en wie weet nieuwe steden en plekken? 🙉 Maar eerst met wijn, taart en vrienden mijn verjaardag inluiden om 00:00 🎉 #later 65/75 #75withmo
Não podia ter ido embora de Noronha sem uma foto correndo né? Foi só a foto. Quem conhece sabe que nesse ponto não dá pra correr. E o tempo em que eu fiquei por lá nem corri mesmo. Fui só turistar. Trouxe comigo de volta as boas recordações, um belo bronzeado e as picadas de inseto que uma semana depois ainda coçam! Senhorrrrrr que raio de bicho é esse?! Hoje tive meu longuinho de 12k depois de uma semana parada e me entupindo de açúcar. A meta era completar sem pausas nem que precisasse caminhar um pouco e assim foi. Entregue. Ah! E ainda fechei com uma prancha de 4’ 😠👊🏼

It's my 🎉mum's birthday today🎉 so eating lunch at her favourite restaurant (my fave too 😎)
Saturday is normally my day off from training (albeit I did 100 push ups this morning) and I usually consider it my 'cheat day' (sometimes Sundays too) eating whatever I like. For example, it can range from treating myself to a double patty burger 🍔with lots and lots of chips 🍟 to croissants with nutella in them 🥐🍫or chicken and waffles flooded with maple syrup 🍗(yes, that's a thing, a wonderful thing) 😎 I have incorporated cheat days into my diet the past few months since too much deprivation of junk food has lead to more cravings, causing me to break from my diet over the past few years and not seeing the changes I wanted to my body. I can tell you now it's had a positive effect on my mind and I rarely struggle to be good during the week 🙋♂️
Today it's me eating lots of Turkish food (kebab, kofte, wings, lamb chops with rice and hummus)! Cake a little later 🎂
I plan to do a long run tomorrow. 🏃♂️Let's hope the weather doesn't ruin it!❄❄❄ What's your plans this weekend? Feel free to share your 'cheat meals' here 😁
We are seriously a unique group of women who understand the true meaning behind fighting through pain, not giving up, and time management.
I have never been more thankful for social media/Instagram. I’m currently dealing with my second injury #postpartum and seeing the attitude and strength from some of these badass moms is truly inspiring. I’m going to give a shoutout to 3 of them:
1. @therunningwife (2X Boston Marathon Runner), she recently had a DNF during a marathon due to getting injured during the race. She took the time off needed to recover and she is kicking ass with her comeback. I can’t wait to see how she does in her next race.
2. @cmomrunfast she had her baby a few weeks after I did and she is working SO hard training for Boston (this is not her first time running it either), currently dealing with a calf injury. Her attitude regarding whether she is going to be able to race or not is truly inspiring.
3. @_alyssadbrown , my coach, (Ultra Marathoner) who also not only delivered right after me, but she has been dealing with multiple injuries post partum. Her husband recently deployed...she literally brings a whole new meaning to selflessness and bad ass.
The good news is my Dr told me that if I did not hear from him after my X-rays- no news is good news. I didn’t hear from him. That leaves me with PT. My last injury felt way worse and once I started PT I recovered very quickly. I also had some of my best runs post shin injury recovery. I hope that’s the case with this groin strain 🙏. Right now I am thankful this didn’t happen close to the #NYCMarathon and that I am maintaining my fitness through #strengthtraining and the #stairmaster . Here’s to hoping I get my badass comeback 🙏💪🏃🏻♀️ Hope everyone has a good Saturday!
Ich wäre dann langsam so weit und hab Feuer unterm Hintern 🔥 aufgrund meiner Erkältung konnte ich Donnerstag zuletzt laufen und bin heiß drauf morgen endlich wieder eine Runde auf dem Weg zum #londonmarathon zu drehen. Kennt ihr das, wenn man was auf jeden Fall machen will, aber einfach nicht kann? 😫 Das ist soooo schwer, wenn man #laufen will, aber nicht kann. Und jetzt habe ich siehe Story auch noch neues Spielzeug bekommen. Kann es also kaum mehr abwarten 🤓 Von daher hoffe ich, das eure Woche bisher besser gelaufen ist 😉 #happybergfest meine lieben 😊🙌🏼
