I’m just a girl, trying REALLY- hard to train for a marathon...
Started off my run this morning with a strange (new) pain in my butt (glute med? periformis? who freaking knows). Nothing serious, just enough to make me hyper aware of every little twinge. The nausea started just before the halfway point of the first 10k (@modunk78 was tasked with a pacing project, more on that later). I was reminded to “run the mile you’re in.” As I continued to push for distance (my body felt great), the nausea progressed. I skipped my second fuel break. The last kilometre was rough, I fought back against puking. And ended up going back out for another 4k, but couldn’t manage another step after “dropping my breakfast off,” if you catch my drift... whatever. •••
After last week’s successful 8k marathon race pace, I tasked @modunk78 to 2x10 minutes at goal race pace (7:45). The idea being I would run, she would pace, I’d be in charge of walk and fuel breaks. Nausea and ultimate barfing aside, today’s project went seamlessly. My body felt strong, and my brain cooperated, mostly. But, I think I might need to re-evaluate what “race pace” and “goal race pace” mean.
Also, I need to get my shit together. •••
today's run was rough. well, the running part was fine, it was rough when i had to stop running. i made it 12 miles before my hip flared up, because i was dumb and didn't tape it this morning. had to walk the rest of the way home and even took a little shortcut so it ended up being only 15.5 not 16 miles.
with @lamarathon in 3 weeks, i need to be very very careful with how i treat my hip if i want actually run it 😬

Wet and muddy run today. Furthest I have ever run and I could have kept going. I didn’t realize how cold and wet I was until I stopped running. Less than 2 months till my 6 hour trail race and I am feeling ready! #runthetrails#trainsmart
Running on pavement in the rain for 7 miles isn't nearly as fun as trails. All the flooded drains and pouring rain from today's run inspired this... I wonder what else goes through everyone else's minds to pass the miles? Sadly no trails for me today, I misread my schedule, thought I had hill repeats but really just had a 1hr run so I opted to do it in my mom's neighborhood since I was dropping my girls off there anyway :/ @devildogultras#ultrarunner#IT#50ktraining#50miletraining#100miletraining#bucklesonthemind teamnuun #nuunlife#nuunlove
After 6 hours of coaching soccer in the pouring rain and freezing cold I did not want to get up and run before church...but with soccer trainings today and starting full time this week I know I have to run when I have small windows...so out the door I went..8 miles done...I even got to see one of my favorite views in Quincy #quincybridge .... First time wearing #zensah running socks #zensahambassador and I am dehydrated for sure #nuunlove to the rescue!! @nuunhydration@zensah
