The more time I spend in Argentina, the more I fall in love with this country and its charm.
This picture was taken in San Antonio de Areco, a small town in northern Buenos Aires Province. Only two hours away from the capital, it is an idyllic pampa town to experience the charm of Argentine Gaucho life 🐎 The town dates to early 1730 and to its day it preserves many Gaucho traditions, including silver work and saddlery of its artisans.
The weather-beaten corner building, you see on this picture, was originally a general store and is more than 200 years old. The building seems to be taken from Don Segundo Sombra (most popular Gaucho novel). Now it’s a pulpería, a place that can be best described as a mixture of wild west saloon bar, restaurant and deli.
We spent a couple of hours wandering around the town, exploring local stores, discovering artisans workshops and of course, meeting incredibly kind and friendly locals, who were always happy to appear on the picture.
☀️ Good morning beautiful people. The key to aging successfully is to pay as little attention to it as possible. 🌻 | @allure “Going gray may seem scary — but it shouldn’t be. 64-year-old Jo-Ani Johnson found her first heather-colored follicle in her twenties, and at first, she freaked out too: "One day, when I went back to work, my boss looked over at me and said, 'Oh, you're getting gray,'" says Johnson. "I panicked, and proceeded to try to dye my hair." After many attempts to conceal the growing gray, Johnson eventually gave up and moved on. "Then I met a young man who hated the blonde," she says. "He's now my husband. We just celebrated our 20th anniversary." Now with a gorgeous headful of waist-length silvery strands, she's living proof of what happens when you embrace your grays--and she hopes to encourage other women to do the same. "I can tell you, many, many women see me in the street, and they'll make a comment, 'Oh, I'm thinking about [growing out my gray]," she says. "And I say, 'Go for it!'"
