@chrisburkard "Over 7,000mm of rain a year. That equates to some of the lushest rainforest on the planet. I was shocked to learn it actually rains more in Milford Sound than the Amazon. Given the steep vertical walls, trees & foliage have no choice but to grow upon the rock faces. If the forecast says rain and clouds you are in luck. That is truly the best way to see it." _____________________
My mom, Great Grandma and I stopped at this spot in our way to the Cumberland falls in Kentucky. I'm pretty sure it was an old fort, but I can't remember what it was called. It was beautiful, you could go to the overlook for an incredible view of the mountains. There was also this one bare and dramatic looking tree.
One of my biggest strengths (or in some cases weaknesses) is that I have a lot of patience. I'm a "stop and smell the roses" kind of girl, through and through. I'm always trying to take in the beauty the world presents in my everyday life. I should have a hazzard sign bumper sticker "WARNING: makes frequent stops for sunsets, flowers and other various roadside gems". It might be annoying to some, but I love this part of who I am.

Some things are both ugly and beautiful at the same time, don't you think? I wonder if there is a word for that. Bugly? Beautigly? Ugliful? Maybe we should just go with the French term, jolie laid (though I think that's typically used to describe people.) This gasoline spilled on the ground at the gas station is just that, jolie laid or... ugliful.

Did Lisa Frank paint this sky, or what? One of my favorite things about living in Indiana are the sunsets! I take the back roads to and from work and that means big open fields that leave room for the sky to show off all of it's gorgeous colors 😍
