👉🏾Yesterday’s 20 miler was rough! 😫
Just when training started feeling like it was a little too good to be true, BAM💥 — I got a huge reality check, and struggled on the last 8 miles. I had to stop a few times, gather myself and really push through. I felt super defeated and my confidence going into the next month of training feels really low. 🤦🏾♀️
Thankfully, the best remedy for me to get out of my funk, is spending time with my family. ♥️ Cousin’s night is just what yo girl needed! ☘️🍺 I don’t often let my hair down, take ridiculous amounts of pickle-backs, sing karaoke tunes, and go to bed at 2 am. 🎶🎤
But, my life doesn’t only revolve around running, and well, YOLO! 😂 Two BIG weeks of training ahead of me, and I will keep telling myself: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; Do not be discouraged. For the Lord your God, will be with you wherever you go.” Onward & upwards!🦄💙💛

Sunday runday had this old lady trekking down the road for 16 miles! Another PR in the books for longest run to date. I anticipated the feeling I would feel when I was done. It did not disappoint. Proud, giddy, joyful, accomplished and freakin pooped. Completing a task that you set your mind to, even though you don’t think you can...is a pretty awesome feeling. It is almost addictive. And one I have not had too many times in my life. I have set out to be a good mother and have done a fairly good job, I am a decent employee, and just a general good person. I have had many accomplishments in other areas of life that I am extremely proud of. But this running thing, where you push your mind and body beyond what you think you are capable of, that is just a whole different level for me personally.I went into today’s run, with some wisdom from my yoga class Saturday. To remain grounded. I have put in the work and my roots are firmly planted. No matter how strong the wind, I will not bend. And sure enough, that carried me though. .
What a special Sunday FUN RUN day! I ran long down to my old 'hood of Venice Beach, which felt extra special because that is where I trained for my first LA marathon back in the day. Thankfully, I finished up just in the nick of time to see my teammate @lynnefiedler cruise by mile 24 looking strong and positive on her way to a Boston qualifying finish. Next, I caught my athlete @n3dwilson put the stamp on an excellent second showing at the LA marathon by beating his previous time by over 25 minutes!!!! I am excited for what's up for him next.😎 Most of all, it was fun to be out celebrating the marathon with my fellow Angelenos. #smashfestqueen, #teamsfq, #setgoalssmashgoals, #proudcoach, #proudteammate, #lamarathon, #ilovetorun, #ilovela, #4weeksout, #Boston
I accidentally took this picture, among several, yesterday after my run trying to maneuver my phone with my gloves. I acutally like this picture alot for some reason. Winter is usually tough for me to keep running. I have tried signing up for races in the spring and a running group to keep motivated during this season. I dont really enjoy bundling up and dont get me started on using the #dreadmill to avoid outside. My desire to run and to stay active typically override my excuses. -
It would have been easier on my time and my body to just to do #80dayobsession and not run. However, I have a few running goals I would like to hit this year and i knew the winter would help set the foundation. In being in the test group, I see how other runners are utilizing the program too! This is probably some of the best winter training I have had in a few years. When I started as a coach, I wasn't sure how I was going to balance running and completing a program. Some programs I haven't been able to successfully run and others I have. That is the beauty of the Beachbody library. I have access to all programs and I can find one that works for me and where I am at with my fitness routine. You may be watching me do 80 day obsession and are thinking, "I'm not about that life yet." That is okay. My first program was 21 Day Fix. The 30 mintue workouts were a great start and the meal plan was easy for me to follow and incorporate into my life. Really half the battle with this fitness journey is eating right. Thank goodness for Shakeology and willpower! But in all seriousness, sometimes you may need to try different things in order to find what works for you. You can try Beachbody on Demand for 14 days. You can try Shakeology for a week or a month (30 Day Money Back guarantee). Let's not just focus on the summer body but creating a healthier lifestyle. ☀️ SUMMER SHREDDING 2018 || Day 3/90
⭐️ Day 1 was March 15th; It was the day the contest was announced but and I wasn't 100% sure I would register.
⭐️ Day 2 was March 16th; I registered before I went to bed.
⭐️ Day 3 was March 17th; Yesterday was my STARTING point! It was also St. Patrick’s Day, hence the BRIGHT green socks! 🍀
I headed out for my LONG RUN early in the morning and I had 4 "good" reasons as to why I could skip it:
1️⃣ I hadn't slept well in a couple of nights so I was TIRED.
2️⃣ It was COLD outside and the wind was fierce.
3️⃣ My KNEE was bothering me a little bit.
4️⃣ My "COLD" or whatever it is my body is fighting, was making me feel SLOW.
But, instead of using those reasons as EXCUSES, I used them as my reasons to go out and get it done! 👊🏻 I could nap later, I dressed extra warm, I would run at a slower pace, and I would take more water breaks! 💁🏼♀️
My 20 km run took me about 20-25 minutes LONGER than normal but HEY, it got DONE and you bet I felt like a ROCKSTAR for finishing it! 🙌🏻 Following my run, I was quite sore and stiff so I stretched out by doing 30 minutes of YOGA! 🧘🏼♀️ Once I was warm and curled up under some blankets, I realized that I really PUSHED through my mental limitations during that run! 💭 There were so many times I wanted to through in the towel but I didn't. The reason I started Summer Shredding was to push through limiting beliefs because I find they are one of the biggest things that hold me BACK! 🤷🏼♀️ This run allowed me to see that I'm in full control of my mind and that if I truly believe in myself, I will ACCOMPLISH what I've set out to do! 🙏🏻

EDINBURGH has to be one of my favourite Scottish cities. Just look at this cute little street and colourful building facades... To check out some of the tasty eateries I visited last week with my chum @katie.wight , you can pop over to my vlog . Link in bio. ❤️
5 miles of trails and farms...and it was fucking awesome (sorry but not really). After a trip to the urgent care on Friday night I was planning on just relaxing this weekend but today was just too nice to pass up. I’m still achy but I think the worst is over. Congrats to everyone who ran a race this weekend! #sundayrunday#trailrunning
Goals for this workout... visualize the last 5 of my next half... one mile at a time... fight for it.... controlled breathing, relaxed form... smooth.... consistency! GOAL MET. Perfect (unplanned) progression. This morning was the reminder i needed to silence that inner critic... and have FAITH in what I KNOW I can do!! Great morning! 🤩 #icaniwill

Solid track Tuesday on the treadmill! I felt really strong throughout this workout and was able to push those paces on the last few intervals (I'm gonna shout out to @rungum for this one... definitely felt that pick up from their gum!!). Here's what it looked like...
2 mile warm up
2x [email protected]:40 pace
2x [email protected]:35 pace
[email protected]:27 pace
[email protected]:07 pace
[email protected]:52 pace
[email protected]:49 pace
(each interval had jog recoveries in between)
2 mile cool down (ended up being faster than they should've been...whoops🙈)
Shout out to @jeph for this killer workout! My legs are DEAD!!
Thanks for all the comments and ideas to help with my digestive/stomach issues AND heel pain. Ack, I've felt like I'm kinda falling apart, but the stomach started feeling better yesterday, and I'm gonna be spending a LOT of time working on my heel and calf to stay on top of it. I've had many of you give me solid ideas and tips and I can't thank you enough. Thank you thank you 💙
Happy Tuesday friends!
It’s not always easy to live as you learn. I always advocate rest and recovery, but this time I have lectured beyond my own ears. So I have questioned myself and my ability, because why would you want to listen to my advices when I don’t live by them myself? I have come to the following conclusion – I live and I learn. And I learn then I share. And when I share you receive. And you collect your gets and create motivation. Then you use your motivation to live and learn so you can share your successes and wisdom's with others. Social media enables fantastic cycles! ♻️💚

12 mile Tuesday! How sad..I had to stop and double check that it was only Tuesday! 🤦🏼♀️ 3 miles outside in the rain before the gym opened and then 9 treadmill miles. Picture is from a few weeks ago because you all know the beach is my happy place and I'm wishing I was there right now! I hope you all have a great day! 😊💕💕
