Recovery trot on the most boring road in Sorrento so today’s photo is about counting down until we launch Gardiner’s Creek parkrun! 🌳 I have had so much fun helping @wendy_glen getting this event up and going (although I don’t think I did that much helping 😆) and I can’t wait for Saturday! #loveparkrun#irun4evan PS legs felt a tiny bit sore but pretty good post two bays 🙃🙂🏃🏻♀️
400m pyramid intervals have got me like WOAH!
Tip: use Garmin Connect "Workouts" to program your session into your watch. Then listen for the beeps for the next interval!
Hit me up if you need a hand 😀
First long run of the year. Felt really good afterwards. Only a little bit sore and tight today, probably those bloody hills. I feel like I've got a good starting point for the marathon. Feels closer than it is! Going to be using a lot of @fisiocremaustralia so I can train as much as possible! 45 minute run plus gym tomorrow! #hurtingsucks
How does my training and routine change according to the seasons?
One thing that is consistent for me through all the seasons - Training is hard! Yet epically rewarding.
Summer.☀️ It’s early starts or twilight outings just to avoid the heat. Feeling like your lightly dusted in salt becomes a regular feeling. The water bill goes up due to all the extra showers!
Autumn.🍁 I spend my time thinking about summer and knowing it’s only going to get colder. I find Autumn goes by too quickly. Autumn tends to give me a false since of security for a moment. The scorching sun isn’t heckling me, the winter wind isn’t pushing me backwards and no niggles due to the consistent weather.
I’m constantly checking the weather app, I plan later starts and more calories are burned due to the chattering of my teeth. A run in the rain is good for the soul (while also re-enacting that rain scene with Ryan Gosling from Notebook helps me pass the time). Spring. 🌤
A few random hot days at the start of spring and I’m not ready for winter to end! The need for water increases x 3! So outings with bathroom access is a must!
I feel fitter in the cold but I suspect that is due to the fact that I don’t sweat like a Jack Black movie character from the 90’s.
However, I feel like I work harder in summer but that is probably due to the fact that I’m in a constant state of hot, hot, hot!
Come rain, hail or shine I’m blessed that I’ve made some wonderful running friends. There is nothing more motivating than people having your back. Heading to events and seeing so many friendly faces makes all the training worth while. Oh and the medals help too!
The training might be tentative over icy bridges one month and than a few months later you’re sprinting (a term I use lightly, my sprint is more a high energy trot) to trees just to get a moment of shade. All that matters is that you try. Don’t give up. Leave the excuses behind.
Seasons change. Plans change. Goals are there to be achieved if you want them badly enough.
Plus I’m from Melbourne it’s highly likely that I could experience 4 seasons in one day without any notice.
And so wraps up week 6 of Tokyo training... the best way with a really confidence boosting trail run 😍 50ish km’s for the week.. don’t think next week will be too high with some recovery on the cards but it’s been a great week! 👐🏼💚 #irun4evan#tokyomarathon

Beautiful post half marathon finisher glow! Big congratulations @runningolderandstronger 🏅🏃♀️👍🏻“And finished!!! Omg who thinks it is funny to put the biggest hill in the middle of the last km. 🤣🤣🤣
First time I've run a hilly course and after some time off am not disappointed with my time. Actually it was the first race where i had no anxiety isues either. Ran for the pure enjoyment. And the chocolate. Fuelled by chocolate #hucknutrition and reward with cadbury chocolate. Really enjoyed this. 🍫🍫.
Now time for some stretching and a massage with #fisiocrem because #hurtingsucks 🤤 “ Huck Nutrition is so pleased you ran with confidence and power, staying strong throughout despite the hilly course! We’re so proud to have energized you today! Cheers🏆
My first race back post baby and we all survived! Timed the breastfeeding the best I could, stuck to the plan on course and Dad (@robpeal) & Christopher stayed in the shade & kept each other company until I finished. It may not have been the longest distance or the fastest time, but I finished all smiles 😀 It feels so good to be back out there doing what I love [even if it is 🔥🔥🔥 & 🌬]. But it feels even better to have the cutest little fella now part of my cheer squad. Loved representing @cyclingmumsaus and @tzeromultisport on course today. Congrats to all the incredible athletes out there giving it a go today 💕👊 @qldtriseries ● stay tuned for the race report coming soon at link in bio 👆
