I would say that most of you know that I have a diagnosed memory impairment.
It is something that I have struggled with for a good part of my adult life.
I have found ways to manage and I continue every single day to try my best.
To be honest, I will forget a lot of conversations but one thing that sticks is the feeling.
I will meet someone new and I can feel the love within them. This is one of the ways that I begin to connect. It isn't a super power to many but it is to me.
I really feel as if this can be seen as a curse. To me, I see it as a new way to build a relationship. This has really opened my eyes to what it means to be truly present.
I take pictures to remember. I make eye contact to connect. I ask questions to learn. I write to not forget.
To all of the new relationships built, to all of the relationships in progress, and to all of the relationships that have yet to begin to blossom, I thank you. I thank you for patience. I thank you for the love. I thank you for the presence. I thank you for all of the things. 💜
“Despite the illusion of giving understanding, what seeing through photographs really invites is an acquisitive relation to the world that nourishes aesthetic awareness and promotes emotional detachment.”
Walking to the coffee shop because my car is in the shop🚶Wanted to chat about what sports I played when I was younger and what I still play! 🏀🏈🥊I've been into basketball since I was old enough to walk (I still play 😜) I ran track, and I didn't have time to mention it, but I love mma (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/Muay Thai) as well!
