The weather outside is frightful, but this meat is so delightful! It’s a perfect day to stay indoors and snack!

...morning | 12.14.17...Guys. I had to #putapuppyonit ...I mean, come on. I think even Joanna Gaines would be proud. 😉😉. And Finn matches my decor 👌🏼🖤🖤. Christmas is starting to makes its way here. Slowly, ever so slowly...this morning we woke to a dusting of snow and the kiddos were alllll super disappointed that there was no delay. 😂😂. My dear (AND MAJORLY TALENTED 🖤🖤) friend, Marci (of @riversideblooms) created these beautiful arrangements in my window boxes, like I squealed when I saw them. Didn’t she do an amazing job!!?! For sure check her out, she sells and grows the most beautiful blooms right on her Farm. I’ve gotten better at asking for help, at realizing that I can’t do everything (even with the best of intentions) and it took me a little bit to actually admit and accept that I wasn’t going to be able to do my window boxes myself, and I’m soooo thankful that I called Marci. Cause she did a job that was 1000x better than I ever would have. And even better, she loved having something new and unique to express her talents in. A win win for us all. Friends. It’s ok to ask for help if you need it. We can do a lot, mommas, but we can’t do it all. 🖤🖤.•
•yesterday you all were so.very.kind and encouraging to my momma heart. Thank you for that friends. I hope you can feel my hug thru these words. 🖤🖤. Most of the rest of the puppies head to their new homes tomorrow...and then allllll the puppy spam will no longer fill your feeds...until the next time....😉😉🖤🖤. Maybe. Maybe we’ll do this again. 😉😉 #theperrypuppies
My old dining room set found a new home at my neighbors house. It looks cuter than I remembered all dressed up for the holidays! @jennid2301 did such a great job giving it new life! I am so glad it found a new family to make memories around it.
I’ll be here most the night finishing addressing Christmas cards for 100 individuals, couples & families! Not mad about it!! In fact, I LOVE getting our cards out. For many of you, I have crossed out multiple addresses to replace with the current and the pages are a mess. This is NOT congruent with my OCD tendencies. I know, I’m (waaaaay) “behind the times” but what is the most efficient way!!!? I still use a manual address book. HA! 💁🏼♀️🙄
HELP...how do you store your contacts/addresses etc. Thanks in advance!! Xo

My four year old is really stickin’ it to me with the Santa questions these days:
So Santa has elves to help him? So you’re saying elves are real? So what, then monsters are real, too? Did God make Santa? Why didn’t God just make us presents instead of making Santa make the presents? How will Santa even know which chimney to come down? What if he gets mixed up and comes down mine and he wakes me up and I see him and see all of his secrets? In the song “Santa Baby” is it talking about when Santa was a baby? Don’t people with big bellies have trouble fitting in small spaces? 🤯
IT’S JUST MAGICAL STOP TRYING TO RUIN CHRISTMAS! 😆🤦🏼♀️😂🤶🏻

Stella is getting so big! It’s incredible what a little love and lots of food has done for our girl since she came to us as a sick itty-bitty stray kitty. She’s still the same sweet soul but with a mischievous and playful side! 🖤
When you never bake and your sugar is as hard as a rock + someones giving you those judgy eyes 🤷🏼♀️ Sorry, Mom!
Don’t worry, even though it looks like I can’t bake, the sugar cookies turned out perf and no one died 🤣
I know every mother goes through highs and lows, all of the dramatic peaks and valleys that motherhood comes with, but it's hard to remember I'm not alone. I'm currently learning how to navigate new waters with brand new spectacular fits from our 3.5 year old, and learning how to discipline and encourage our headstrong 1.5 year old. The new fits are wearing me down, and it still never fails that 15 minutes later I'm almost in tears again because of how overwhelmed with love I am for these sweet kids. They are learning how to move through life and so are we Mamas. Don't let yourself forget that every day brings something new, for you and for them.
I haven't been able to put down this book Magic of Motherhood since I bought it, which means reading three pages at a time whenever I have a spare minute, including while cooking spaghetti for dinner tonight! Anyone else chow down on a block of parmesan while they are cooking? I usually have wine too, but I'll just have to wait a while before I can add that back into my evening stress relief.

We finished this side table a while ago but I had no idea how I wanted to decorate it until I threw on some Christmas decor... now what should I put on it after the holidays? A lamp maybe?

Now that the busy season is coming to a close, I just want to scoot my family off to a little cabin somewhere and crochet the days and nights away until the snow melts and we have to come back. We won’t be headed to a cabin (yet...exciting January travel plan announcement coming soon), but we will be taking some time away from the business-y stuff and enjoying the holidays. If you love personal things, hop over and follow me @littlemusicnote, or just keep following along on stories. I will also be sharing a bit more here about life outside of photography, so sticking around here is good too. So here are three personal facts for you about what life is like:
1. What am I up to? I went to a knitting circle tonight and it was #fabulous, Ive been knitting and crocheting for years and it brings me such peace. For me, it’s basically like yoga but without having to get up off the couch. #winning
2. What am I sipping on? I constantly drink coffee which if you’ve been following along for a while, you are well aware. But did you know...I had my first cup of coffee when I was 4. I was on a rocking horse and my mom gave it to me in a plastic tea cup. I was hooked ever since.
3. What am I currently watching on Netflix? The Crown and I’m obsessed with it. Also sporadically watching Mindhunters and various Marvel shows because I’m a superhero addict.
That’s all folks!! Let me know if you have any favorite Netflix recommendations for this girl once I finish binge watching The Crown 👸. I’m in need of something new to watch!
CAULIFLOWER STEAKS RECIPE 🌿
I could literally eat a whole head of cauliflower made like this because it’s so good! But I’m warning you now, trying to cut the cauliflower like this was much harder than I thought. I got about two good looking pieces and everything else just crumbled so I tossed it onto the cookie sheet with the “steaks” and cooked them as is. Same great taste, just all crumbled up 👌🏽 And the little bit of crunch from the cheese that gets toasty on there is so good. 1 cup roasted cauliflower is about 3 net carbs! 🙌🏽
-1 head of cauliflower sliced into “steak” shapes
-@chosenfoods avocado oil
-freshly grated parmesan cheese
-fresh parsley, finely chopped
-sea salt + pepper
-@simplyorganicfoods crushed red peppers
-Preheat oven to 425 degrees (my RV oven is a honey badger and does what it wants so I just have to keep a close eye on the thermometer inside).
-Drizzle avocado oil on each side of your “steaks” and on any remaining crumbled cauliflower that didn’t make the cut for the steak shapes
-Season both sides with grated parmesan, parsley, salt and pepper, and crushed red peppers
-Roast for 20 min. Flip and roast for another 10 min or until desired tenderness. I like the cheese to be a little golden brown.
Then I fried two eggs in a pan with @kerrygoldusa butter and topped it with S+P and more crushed red peppers. Easy peasy.
This lunch right here is 3 carbs! Zola is obsessed with this cauliflower and don’t be fooled, I think I went back for seconds and thirds on the cauliflower because it’s THAT GOOD! If you roast the whole head of cauliflower, you might have leftovers and you’ll thank yourself later. 💪🏽 Happy tummies, happy blood sugars!
Your home is the back drop of your children’s memories. I still remember so many details about the homes I grew up in and even though we moved often every home felt exactly the same to me, it felt safe. You nurture and teach your children in these four walls. Those walls should reflect who you are all are and who you ALL want to be. Love you friends, love your homes. #bennettsloveshack#hearthandhand#dollhouse#welivehere#ourhome
My little ornament crafting helper attempted to eat the materials and successfully poked holes in two, but eventually got the hang of the gentle touch (see my stories). This dried orange Instagram-Bingo trend (😉😙) has become a favorite tradition. 🍊 (Swipe right to see a little moment from a year ago, featuring last year’s batch and the one time it kind of slightly snowed last year). Lots of people have asked me how to do this and I’ll give a brief how-to: slice oranges (about 3/8” thick), and place in a 200* oven for several hours (like 6-7+) turning them when turning them feels right... I’m going to do another round tomorrow to keep our house warm.. because our heater broke again!
today is my brother’s birthday. growing up i was a huge fan of the chronicles of narnia series by c.s. lewis. in the voyage of the dawn treader reepicheep sails away to aslan’s country, i have always loved the description of his departure: “lucy, for the first and last time, did what she had always wanted to do, taking him in her arms and caressing him. then hastily he got into his coracle and took his paddle, and the current caught it and away he went, very black against the lilies. but no lilies grew on the wave; it was a smooth green slope. the coracle went more and more quickly, and beautifully it rushed up the wave’s side. for one split second they saw its shape and reepicheep’s on the very top. then it vanished, and since that moment no one can truly claim to have seen reepicheep the mouse. but my belief is that he came safe to aslan’s country and is alive there to this day.” ✨⛵️✨ happy birthday, brother. 🖤 #firstname.lastname@example.org
