From @winonaladuke : My father once told me that he didn’t want to hear my philosophy unless I was able to grow corn, and so beginning in the late 1990s, I became a traditional corn farmer, along with beans, squash and tobacco. All of this was grown on WELRP and later tribal lands, as I have not had my own land. 🌽
The 40-acre farm we have sought out for #Winonashemp and Heritage Farm has rich soils, healthy waters and a barn where we will store our seeds and hemp. This farm will be an anchor for the restoration of traditional varieties, hemp test plots, and a training place for horse powered agriculture. 🐴
