Circular saw marks; one thing that truly sets apart century old wood from new wood. These saw marks were created by massive circular saw blades when the wood was milled a hundred years ago. If any of the teeth on the saw blade were bent as the wood was milled, it would create these etchings that you see in this photo. The etchings to us, are a thing of beauty.

Featured today is this reclaimed MALUGAY executive table, custom-made for United Towers Philippines.
🎥 Quick video of the making of the backband detail for the doors of the #walnutliquorcabinet ...it has a wee chamfer on the inner edge and will sit slightly proud of the door panel. It will also be hit with @rubiomonocoatusa Pre-Color black before it is applied to complement the ebony door handles, drawer pulls and feet of the base. Thanks again to @speckcustomwoodwork for the design collab on this detail.
I’ll show you the full piece tomorrow, after the client has seen it. In the mean time you can watch this. After making furniture for so many years it takes a lot to impress me these days. This piece does.
Yesterday I was happily introduced to the @casamidyjorge website. I have for a while been a fan of their products but I hadn't delved through their projects. This is from their website and I think it looks like heaven.
