My poor pantry copped a beating with a houseful of people staying this weekend! Things just got chucked everywhere and i didn't care for spending time tidying it while people were here! Today I brought some baskets to make it a little tidier and spent 20 minutes going through it and now it's like new ✅

My wins for today! Yay! Very excited to have our interest rate on our mortgage lowered down to 3.91%. Always ask your bank for a discount, the worse they could do is say "no" and if you're not happy you can take your business elsewhere. My bank charges a $100 settlement fee every time your loan amount needs to be adjusted. I was able to get this refunded due to being a staff member. Yay to more savings 🤑🤑🤑 #debtfreecommunity#debtfree#goals#frugal#frugalliving#money#savings#win
my bonds haul today. retail $320.85. I paid $113.37. It was 40% off the already reduced price, so many of these came to $6 each. I never ever pay full price for bonds. Happy days. Some of this is for my daughter but a lot of it is gifts or going in the present box

Well here it is! I sat down today and budgeted out our second half of the month. Payday is Thursday and I went off of the expected income amounts. I'm pretty OCD about my numbers and our income. I was never good in math until I started working retail now at my current job, when I look at my hours I can pretty much tell what my paycheck will be. Give or take a few dollars & cents, I've got hope that I was able to do it for W's check too. March will be a whirlwind for us though because it's the first month since actually budgeting that will will be getting 5 PAYCHECKS. Yup, this girl finally got her hours and her $$ flow again! W said he felt like a pimp last payday when he went and got our cash out 🤣😂 😎 #budget#debtfree#debtfreecommunity#debtfreejourney#cashisking#frugal#budgeting#pinchingpennies#livingwithdebt#livingdebtfree
I don’t know what it is about paying for car stuff but I just DREAD it and get anxiety just thinking about it. I think it’s because it’s expensive, some of it is unpredictable, and I don’t trust car places.. any of them lol. I hate even getting oil changes. 😝 #stressful#carrepairs

Beautiful clear night after 3 days of getting slammed with snow. Thankful to live in such a beautiful spot of the country. Giving up everything and leaving California was a hard decision, and I am thankful it ended up working out for us. .

Today's little haul from @woolworths_au 🤗 Mainly just for pantry stockpile but noteable items this week - TipTop sandwich thins @socialsouphq (excited to try them! 🙌🏽) and bonus points from Woolies rewards for purchasing mi goreng noodles (hubby's fave) and hi fibre bread 👍🏼 Total was $23.61, still got $46.39 left for groceries this week but since we absolutely went over our budget by HEAPS last week, will try and not spend all of it
I’m just annoyed that the Hearth & Hand bowls I found today were still regular price. But the damn nesting houses were 90% off! My local Targets are stupid and everyone jumps at 50% off that we hardly ever hit 90! I only went to one store, but tomorrow I’m going to 3 early in the morning! And if nothing, then I’m over it! I’m so jelly this makes no sense! Always late to the sale. My heart hurts. 🙁😭 swipe to see the only items I found at 90! Everyone’s hauls were under $10 and my total was $93! Surprised that I even spent less than $100. SN: One of Kaity’s hobbies is birdhouse painting and so when I took these out of the bag she thought they were for her to paint. 😩 #hearthandhand#target#targetclearance#couponing#homedecor#homesweethome#homedecor#momblogger#momblog#blogger#blog#frugalliving#frugal#frugalmom
Visiting NYC 🌃 has been on my bucket list for years (prob my entire life). We are finally 🙌🏻 in a place financially and in life where we are ready to make the trip. But, we want to do it as frugally and budget friendly as possible! We are planning ahead and starting a sinking fund in our budget to save for it. We are doing all the research we can to find the best and cheap way to visit. ***************
Please share with me all your best NYC travel tips. Where to stay, what to eat, what to do, I want to hear it all! And bonus points if it’s budget friendly! 😉
I’m constantly trying to find ways to save money on groceries and reduce waste in the kitchen. I read about freezing vegetable scraps and then using them to make broth once you had enough. Love this idea!! Our only problem is our limited freezer space. The next option would be pressure canning the broth. Downside.. I do not own one. Thankfully I remembered one of my friends had one and I asked if I could borrow it. She said yes and that has saved me $70. Don’t be afraid to ask around before you buy if it is something you can borrow!! You never know!!! #debtfreecommunity#borrowdontbuy#babystep2#frugal#vegetablebroth#pressurecanning#gazelleintense

Here are 3 items in my budget that drive me nuts: 1) Direct TV $150...need to cut cord! 2) Internet $50...seems dated to pay for internet access at home 3) unexpected expenses $100...why does crap have to occur??
Would love if you shared your pesky budget items!!!!!!!
successful battery replacement. tfw it’s winter, 5 years have passed, new cars have plastic covering everything, and you need to register your battery with the obc for it to function properly #diy#obdreader#frugal#r56#latergram

I heard @daveramsey say this and actually laughed out loud, but his point was so true! The people you hang out with influence the things you do, say, eat... you become who you hang out with.
It made me think of you guys in the #debtfreecommunity. Seeing you kicking butt and smashing your goals makes me want to do that too 🦌
Dave went on to talk about not letting your kids hang out with the “weed heads” down the street... helpful 😂
I got so hungry after I saw this great how to video from @elisebauer! Perfect snack for a few episodes of the @popcornfinancepodcast#Repost
Real world problems—burnt popcorn and un-popped kernels, right? My mother taught me her method for making perfect popcorn 🍿 on the stovetop 20 years ago and I’ve never needed to make popcorn any other way. We just put up this new video on @simplyrecipes what do you think? 😋

It’s so easy to compare your journey with that of the person next to you.
It’s so easy to feel intimidated, less, invalidated because you feel like you just don’t measure up.
“How can I showcase my real self, when it’s so far from the way it’s supposed to be?”
“What if they judge me?”
I want to say to you: there is no perfect journey that everyone is “supposed” to be on.
Be. True. To. You. And be true to your inner voice.
Not because it’s a feel-good saying
Not because it’s the right thing to do
But because someone, somewhere out there needs you to be exactly the person you were created to be.
They need to hear your message. They need to listen to your story. They need to see your imperfections, your quirks, your falls,
And how you’ve gotten up time and time again.
They need to see that you’re real and although you are afraid too, you face that fear with courage.
Let’s strive for progress rather than perfection. Reminding myself of this today ❤️ 🌱🌱🌱

Did you know community gardens are a great place to fill your freezer for FREE? I was at one in Huntsville, AL when I went to visit my son. I loaded up on turnip greens and kale. ALL FOR FREE!
Finally decided to go shopping and spent a part of the $150 allowance I set for clothes for the month. 😀 (I usually either go months without shopping or purchase hundreds of dollars worth of clothes in one sitting that I don’t even wear, so this budget is reasonable for now)
- Kate spade booties for $69.99
- Gap dress for $4.00
- Michael Kors shirt for $12.00
Anyone else love TJ maxx? 🙋🏻 I’m slowly learning to only purchase items that are good quality and bring me joy to wear.

Mommy friends! If you have a little one under 5 years old please make sure they are signed up for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library! It's completely FREE and your child will receive a book by mail every month until their fifth birthday! My first son participated and now our new little one is. He gets the sweetest board books every month. My oldest still has all of his on his book shelf. #debtfreecommunity#frugal#housewife#sahm#imaginationlibrary

Another beautifully organized haul picture from my mom’s 90% off clearance adventures at Target! She spent $44 on everything pictured here and saved $544 dollars! She is hosting a bridal shower and using most things as favors and decorations. That is going to be one lucky bride 💕

If your goal is early retirement you likely value your time. How much do you sacrifice now for then? We have children that are changing by the second. Our budget and timeline reflects this. We are frugal but will pay for services to get more family time if we need it.
Check out the new post.
Bag - $15⠀
Flip-flops - $25
Sweater - Free from a friend ⠀
Tank top - $7⠀
Hat - Ummm, got it years and years ago, probably on sale at REI or some other outdoor gear co-op. Worn it dozens, if not hundreds, of times.⠀
You don’t need a lot of money to look good. You just need YOUR OWN sense of taste. 🐾🌞🧢
There’s a reason why my kids’ first solid foods were runny egg yolks: they’re packed to the brim with awesome fat, protein, and nutrients, and cooking those precious little nuggets can denature the proteins to the point of causing egg allergies. The raw factor has never caused any issues, and egg yolks have such a mild and creamy flavor that both kids enjoyed. I still scramble eggs most mornings now that my son is older, but keeping the right foods raw or undercooked has always been important to us when introducing baby foods.
I was feeling too lazy to soft boil eggs, and wanted to give my daughter a new experience, so I tonight tried a spin on tamago gohan—a Japanese breakfast of raw egg cracked over hot rice and mixed vigorously. For her, I just mixed in the yolk with no frills. It looked amazing in its simplicity: creamy, fat filled, and satisfying.
But 10-month-olds could care less about what you think they might like. 😂 A few grains got into her mouth, while the rest smeared into her hair and clothes and overall caused a huge mess. Might have to introduce it again another time. But on the plus side, my son enjoyed the rejects with a little bit of salt, pepper, and gluten free soy sauce. 😋 I could picture the tamago gohan approach working well with hot shiraraki noodles, or even steaming cauliflower rice for anyone bold enough to try it on keto.
If I could go back in time I would tell myself “DON’T DO IT!!!!”... I graduated undergrad debt free and then entered a master’s program on impulse and took out student loans, and way more than I needed. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Helped my good friend write her budget tonight. It’s a win-win because she has someone to help her each step of the way and I get to write budgets for fun. Hello, my name is Allison and I’m addicted to budgeting.

If you guessed for groceries, you’re right! Going to carry this thing at the grocery store to add as I go (1 click=$1). This way I don’t have to guess how much the whole cart will cost at the register. I’ll round up for tax and even if it’s not perfect, I’m sure it’ll be close! Tired of clearing my phone calculator on accident 😩 I linked this one in my stories - comes in a bunch of colors and it’s CHEAP!
