It was a bit of a ‘Fig Affair’.... I love figs and after getting a whole punnet from @woolworths_sa I was struggling in deciding how I enjoy eating them best. They are a great source of fibre and several minerals and vitamins such as calcium, magnesium, manganese, potassium, copper, vitamin K and vitamin B6 amongst other nutrients. They are naturally sweet and a perfect addition to your breakfast.
A healthy breakfast is necessary to raise the body’s energy levels and to restore the blood glucose levels to normal after the overnight fast.
Skipping breakfast can have a negative impact and increase the risk of gaining excess weight because in general, people skipping breakfast tend to eat more at lunch or to snack all day.
Personally I like to have fruits, such as figs when they are in season, as part of my breakfast to help me keep full & energized during the morning.

Today, my day started off with a wonderful brunch at Cafe Borrone with my mom and brother. This spot is, along with Tootsie’s, one of the best bustling breakfast and lunch spots in the South Bay, and it’s located in Menlo Park. Not only is their food amazing, but the service and ambience is also fantastic. Today, we ordered orange juice, French toast, banana pancakes, and their number 3 scramble. The orange juice here is possibly the best I’ve ever had. It is fresh with a true orange flavor. Moving on to the food, as soon as the waitress walked up with the dishes, my nose was filled with a delightful aroma. I could not wait to dig in, but of course, I had to take pictures for you guys! Anyway, I rarely eat French toast, but I think that this place has changed me. The French toast here is sweet, moist, and springy, with a perfect tartness from the strawberries. I would 100% recommend it. Bite after bite, this dish never ceased to amaze me, but the banana pancakes were a different story. Although they were piping hot, fresh, moist, and sweet, after a few bites, it became too heavy. It’s perfect for if you are really hungry, but definitely share with someone if you are not. Lastly, their number 3 scramble with mushrooms, sherry, shallot, chives, and crème fraiche was simply fantastic. It was creamy, silky, and the mushrooms added a perfect earthy tone to the dish. Overall, the food here brings classic breakfast dishes to the next level, and even though there’s a line and it’s quite busy most of the time, their service is actually very quick and it is definitely worth it, so come if you haven’t already!

Ich hoffe, dass ihr -wenn ihr das hier lest- bereits gut in den Tag gestartet seid! 😊 Da ich in den letzten Tagen echt oft Pancakes hatte und ich euch nicht mit meinen Pancakes langweilen wollte, gab es bei mir heute French Toast 🙊😍 Aber ich bereue die Entscheidung nicht, da es ein super leckeres Frühstück ist 😋 Die Kombi Erdnuss und Schokolade ist nämlich echt super lecker! Vor allem mit ein paar frischen Beeren, Granola und etwas geschmolzene dunkle Schoki 😊 Was gibt es bei euch heute? 🙌
Entschuldigt zudem, dass ich die letzten Tage nicht so regelmäßig posten konnte. Ich hab sehr viel unternommen und war viel unterwegs.
Ich poste aber auf jeden Fall wieder mehr ❤ Habt einen tollen Tag 😘 😊
Vermenge rund 100 ml pflanzliche Milch (eventuell einen Schluck mehr), eine halbe zermatschte Banane, Kakaopulver und süße nach Wahl. Derweil eine Toast Scheibe mit Erdnussbutter (meins ist aus dem @muskelmachershop *Werbung ❤) bestreichen, die andere Scheibe darauf legen und in den Kakaomix tunken. Etwas abtropfen lassen und auf mittlerer Hitze mit etwas (Kokos)öl in einer gut beschichteten Pfanne auf beiden Seiten und kurz braten 😊
Combine about 100 ml plant milk (or a bit more), half a mashed banana, cacao powder and sweetener of your choice. Spread peanutbutter on one the toast and sandwich them together. Soak the toasts in the mixture. Heat a nonstick pan with a bit oil and fry on low-medium heat on both sides a few minutes 😊
Been seeing pancakes and french toast all over my feed so it was about time I caved in to making my own! I mixed 2 eggs, vanilla almond milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a bowl and coated both sides of @daveskillerbread Raisin’ the Roof bread slices in the mixture, then cooked it in a pan with coconut oil for 2 minutes each side! Of course I had to top this french toast stack with almond butter, strawberries and blueberries😋 What’s your favorite brunch meal?!
