so of course after my wonderful post about how all is not lost on my goals on Friday 3/4 members of my family got slammed with the flu. I spent almost all day yesterday in bed and my daughter is still puking today 😣 my son is exhausted but seems to be on the mend.
I am super thankful to have an AMAZING husband who has been caring for us all doing insane amounts of laundry and who even FORCED ME to take time for myself today ( I mean he actually pulled my daughter off of me lol I felt too guilty to put her down). I am doing a second round of max 30 mixed with Shaun week for the week. Today was max cardio! made it all the way thru again!! Still modifying some moves so I've still got room to improve with this program!! 👊

Many expectant mums told us they were put off exercising during pregnancy because they were scared about overheating. We’d like to allay your fears and offer some guidelines to make sure you don’t overheat: - Exercise outdoors whenever possible – but not in hot, humid conditions (humidity makes it harder for sweat to evaporate)
- When exercising indoors make sure there is good ventilation and air circulation
- Stay hydrated – you need to make sure you replace the fluid lost via sweating so drink plenty of water before, during and after your pregnancy workout.
- Wear appropriate maternity sportswear – the FittaMamma range all features CoolDry technology to wick moisture away from your skin and help to keep you cool
- Remember the ‘talk test’. This is a useful measure of the intensity of physical activity, not just an encouragement to chat whilst you exercise. You should be able to hold a conversation whilst exercising without feeling out of breath or uncomfortable.
- If you’re exercising in water, avoid pools that are above 320C
- Exercise during pregnancy should be about maintaining fitness, not improving it – don’t push yourself too hard
- Stop exercising if you feel faint or dizzy and stop exercising if you feel nauseous or start to vomit
- Don’t be tempted by an post-workout session in the sauna or the hot-tub – sitting in a hot tub is far more likely to cause you to overheat than your pregnancy exercise routine

I can be so oblivious in the gym. I can look right at people in the face, people I know well, and my brain NOT recognize them to say hello. Like, I am in THE ZONE. Music is up and everyone disappears. So, please, if you see me in the gym, reach out and tap me or wave a hand 🤚 in my face. Because I WANT to say hello! I want to connect!
Speaking of being totally out of it, I will share with you a story....I took this photo right after a good jump roping session. I was really hitting a groove and having a great time. There were about 6 other people in the cardio room - a room that is mostly used for random folks to practice other activities like jumping, stretching, boxing, walking lunges, sprints, etc..a nice private spot to work. (Or where they teach group classes..) Then suddenly, a woman walked in dimmed the lights, started walking around moving equipment, and I thought to myself, wow, this girl thinks she owns this room or something. Doesn’t she see all of us doing our thing in here? Then one by one the other folks began to disappear...and it dawned on me that she was teaching a class in a few minutes. In my obliviousness and subsequent embarrassment, I asked the lady what class she was teaching. Yoga. Yeah. I awkwardly snapped my selfie and hurried out. Sorry yoga lady, the place is all yours. 🤦♀️🤷♀️ #facepalmmoment#blondemoment#yogaclassessoundnice

Recently I came to the realization that I can do anything but I cannot do everything. And that by spreading myself so thin I was serving no one, especially not myself. So I stopped. Took a breath. I had been trying to do it all, alone. Like some lone wolf. What I realized is that I am part of a family, a community and to embrace that sense of being a part of something bigger will not lessen my endeavors but elevate everyone. Together we CAN do great things 👊🏻

💥FAT LOSS PROGRESS💥
➡️Check out this scenario: 🐶You start out with a new diet or exercise plan, you expect to see some kind of results pretty early on. Something. Anything. You have eaten “perfectly” for a couple of days, and hit your workouts, so the expectation is you will see some sort of progress. Either the scale will have moved, or somehow, your clothes may feel like they are fitting different. Sound familiar?
🦄If only fat loss actually worked that way. In a world of instant gratification that we live in now, we expect to see tangible results very quickly. I am here to tell you your body could give a shit about your timeline. Its going to lose fat at it’s pace, not yours. -
🐨If you truly want to change your body, you are probably going to have to change your mindset first . Be in it for a lifetime, not just 6 weeks. -
🐿The main reason why people can’t lose fat isn’t because they don’t know what to do. It’s because they aren’t patient enough to let it happen. They don’t see results early on and they get discouraged and quit. Or they only focus on what the scale says and can’t see the other areas of progress that are staring them in the face. Does that sound like you?
🐙I know it isn’t easy. We all want affirmation that we are on the right track, and it can be so frustrating, but the sooner you let go of a timeline, and accept that losing fat takes time, your life will change. The weight will be off your shoulders, and you can finally get busy on your goals and enjoy the process. . Stop stressing about a number on the scale and it’s representation of your success or failure or worth. The number isn’t you. - 🐡Get out there, put in the work, beat the shit out of that fat you want to lose, and most importantly, enjoy your life. -

This one is for my mamas! Would you believe me if I said that this was the same dress? Because it is! On the left I was 39 weeks and in active labor, on the right is me today, almost 20 months #pp. Contrary to what Instagram and the media tells you, it’s pretty hard to just bounce back a month after having a baby. It’s hard to bounce back a year after a baby even. Everything is different, you’re hormones, you’re time schedule, and most definitely your body. I remember when I first got pregnant thinking how easy it was going to be and that I was just going to have my pre baby bod back right away. Nope. Didn’t happen. I’m still working my ass off to get my body to the point of where I want it to be but I’ve come to the realization that my body will NEVER be back to what it was and that’s OKAY. Don’t get in a slump if your body isn’t where you want it to be, don’t beat yourself up, just work hard and your body will respond. It literally gave life to a precious little baby, it needs time and it’s perfect regardless💕
