Yoga is not all about flexibility. Honestly, I’m not that flexible 😝 I can’t do the splits even after almost 20 years of practicing yoga. I actually encourage my students to focus on form and strength along with stillness and breathing, going deeper inside, & clearing the mind. Some flexibility will come with all those things but don’t compare yourself to others and what they can do with their bodies. It’s dangerous.
Comparing myself to others and my own personal limiting beliefs held me back for 17 years from getting my yoga teaching training certification. Don’t be like me!
Find what feels good and start out easy. Focus on form and strength, and breathing. Then as you get stronger you can do cool poses you see on Instagram. But that doesn’t ever have to come into your practice. Do you.

We get only one life. How we choose to live it is completely up to us. How we fill our days, who we surround ourselves with, the experiences we create and the moments we share. I spend most of my days in service to others and it brings me a lot of joy. I get to look out into a room of 60 people, 13 times a week and what drives me is the sudden shift that occurs in someone. I see it and I feel it when it’s happening. It’s almost as if a light switch is turned on and a power and strength they didn’t know existed within themselves, is somehow revealed for the first time. It’s why I love what I do. -What’s funny is that same shift happened within me. ...I read an article about 2 years ago on how Millennials aren’t taking their vacation days. On how they seem to have conjured up this idea that time away would take away from getting ahead. A survey was conducted and 30% of people said they wanted to appear more committed in the eyes of their employer. It was true. I didn’t take a single day off for the first full year that I became an instructor at @soulcycle. I said yes to everything. For a three month period I worked 7 days a week. 90 days straight. Then that article surfaced in my world and I made a decision to be there for myself in the same way that I am there for everyone else. To make time for the people who matter the most to me and to use every. single. vacation. day. I realized my decision to not show up for myself was based in fear. Fear that I wouldn’t be chosen, fear that people would stop taking my classes if I threw them off their schedule. I felt a lot of guilt but I kept my word and I’ve seen this world more than I ever have, made connections with people I never would have and my life is more fulfilling and more whole. I get to return to my rooms with a restored sense of inspiration that cannot be found within the pages of a book or in my own city but through exploring what is unknown. •
All of this to say. Use your vacation days. All of them. You can still make an impact with your career and if you’re passionate about what you do, the people will be there. xxVB
You are worthy. You are capable. You are beautiful. Celebrate yourself.
If you want to set yourself up for success, you need to discover your values. Set your goals, develop a strategy, and most importantly, STAY FOCUSED (on you, until the focus is you)

The douchiest day of the week but every guy’s favorite, ARM DAY. I’m no expert, no fitness coach, or body builder. I just know what works for me and it might work for someone else. Here’s my Bicep/Tricep workout from this morning. About an hour and a half in total.
Hello there 😳😳 Honesty Post. This is me. And it's awful. It has been a pretty crappy week. Can I get a redo please???
I've been fighting some sort of infection since Sunday. I woke up with a mild fever (which went away in a day) but this is now Day 6 of weakness, nausea, extreme bloating, GI distress. 🤢🤢 I've had zero, I mean zero appetite. Literally the one thing that sounds decent is cereal (really??) Smells of food or thinking about it just makes me wanna bleh. Who am i?? I managed to have rice cakes last night for dinner 😆
The distention gets worse after I do try & eat something...and some days gets so uncomfortable it's hard to relax at night 😔 It gets worse than what is in the photo too 😩
For all of you that suffer from IBS....oh man I feel your pain. Idk how people deal with this on a consistent basis! (left pic is from last week at one point; how I look normally).
I've been utterly exhausted as well; I'm in bed by 9:30 and still have been having to force myself up in the morning. I'm normally going ALL day long.☹ Whatever this is, I'm done with it!
And no...I'm NOT pregnant....!
I've been consistent with my supplements & doing all I can to help my body heal. What I normally do is what I've continued:
👉Gains in Bulk @gainsinbulk Digestive Enzymes with meals & Liv Clean at night
👉GIB Glutamine, Aloe vera juice & chlorophyll mixed together at night 👉Apple Cider Vinegar 2x day
👉Essential Oils like crazy (peppermint, ginger, digestive blend)
All of these are great for optimal digestion, gut health & detoxification & overall functioning.
This week has taught me even more patience and Intuition with my body. I'm normally one to "push through" things, but I'm not superwoman. The more I listen to my body, the better. Self care is sometimes getting your ass to the gym & planning healthy meals. Sometimes it's laying on the couch doing nothing & knowing that's exactly what I need. ❤
Something important came to my realization last night. -
My cute friend @emmalado was texting me, asking me if I ever cheat, I assumed she meant food, so I said YES! I just did today! She also said, “tell me when you do, so I know you aren’t beyond perfect.”
YOU GUYS. I wish I could tell you I eat perfectly everyday, my diet has actually gone down the drain the last few days. I’ve been eating way more carbs and sugars than I ever have, my hormones have been a joke. But with that said, YES I still have a slice of pizza when I can, yes I still eat that ice cream cake, yes I still eat that cookie or two. Me and the rest of the girls you look up to are just like all of you! Some may be more restrictive than others, that’s okay too. What’s not okay is too shame someone for what they choose or not choose to eat. -
I don’t eat ice cream, pizza, and junk everyday, but I do slip up, & I enjoy it.
We must be easier on ourselves. Just as long as you try harder to be better the next day, that is all that matters. Try a little harder, to be a little healthier, and balance your delicious foods with your treats. I have fallen into binging before, I take one bite of something and end up eating the whole cake. 🙄😹 SO, I have chosen to allow myself a little treat jar, I can have a dark chocolate once a day, and then I drink lots of water with it and put my jar back where I can’t see it. It’s weird how when we don’t see something, we less crave it.
If you’re struggling with cutting sweets and sugars, I would suggest doing this, but also, if you do have a home filled with treats and processed foods, try and hide them from your eye sight, if possible I would even suggest taking them out of your home, the temptation decreases. But just know YOURE OKAY IF YOU EAT A COOKIE, A CHEESECAKE SLICE, A DRINK OF POP. Just use those carbs and transform them into energy for your workouts, your runs, your hikes. Just utilize it all. -
We are all human, we all make mistakes, we all get off track, just keep moving, keep pushing, keep doing what you can to get to where you’re going. Don’t give up, giving up will never get you to your destination faster. I believe in all of you. 👊🏽💘
**Use whatever pronoun suits you best
When you take someone for granted for too long, you teach them to live without you. Don't be upset because they're no longer paying you no mind. Be upset at yourself for letting them get away, especially when all they wanted was to be a part of your life.
The hubster took the kiddos to school this morning so I could get my swole on before work💪 I sure miss their sweet little faces on mornings like these, but I also love getting to knock out my workout early. I had a nice little upper lift now I'm ready to take on the day! When is your favorite time of the day to workout?

Adding some ~color~ into my life with this smoothie 🤗💕 perfect for this BEAUTIFUL weather we got going on 🌞 and my homemade turmeric cookies on top (recipe coming)😛 I’m real into adding bites/cookies instead of granola on my smoothies. For some reason it’s more satisfying bc let’s be real you always go back for way more granola than you originally put on 🙈
Smoothie: 1 frozen banana, frozen zucchini, frozen dragon fruit, @nuzest_usa chocolate protein (discount: kaleingit), @bellplantation pb2, almond milk, blend.
