FRIYAY: Turkey Nachos! 😋👊🏻👍🏼.... and boy was this a success tonight!! 🤗
Hubby was working from home today so we all tucked in together, not many utensils were used it was a real getting stuck in meal which the kids loved! • Super simple as ever, it’s just a case of making your turkey mince, which was very mild in flavour so very kiddy friendly and then it’s just a case of assembling various components! You can switch this up anyway you like, omit the kale and carrots and add the slightly more traditional avocado, salsa and sour cream! The adults had sour cream but the kids were very happy without!...and because I’m a loser and have nothing better planned tonight 😛I’ve also written up the recipe for you ( #linkinbio👆 ) You’re welcome!!!! 😂
Off to bed early tonight as we have a busy London day tomorrow & I literally can’t wait! We are checking out the science museum &the @rainforest_cafe Have any of you been before!?! Anyway, have a fab night tonight and a fab Saturday!

I love a well used recipe. This is a recipe from my mum and her mum before her. Very popular with all 5 children and easy to make. Who doesn’t love a bit of imported beef in a can that’s impossible to open?! #familymeals#cookingforseven#homemade#familyrecipe
*New Video* yes it's Friday but there's a bonus video today!! It's a food haul and meal plan! We've been eating some yummy foods this week, my food shop was aimed to be more #vegan and #vegetarian friendly! Link in bio xx
That darn mom pouch!!! Moms, ya know what I am talking about?!? ...that loose droopy, skin hanging down over your lowrise pants.
It is definitely a trouble spot for many of us postpartum moms. Plus, it takes so long for the skin to shrink. And as we know, it doesn't totally go away.
Its been 3.5 years since I had Kylie and 2 back to back C-sections mine is still there
But mom's, we CAN tighten that tummy!! Let's do it together!! I'm so proud of myself today! I couldn't do the corkscrew sliders last week, today I did all 10 in all 3 rounds!
Keep in mind that healing time and nutriton play a big part of the shrinking of the mom pouch too.
Looking for more accountability? And help with family friendly meals and recipes my next bootcamp starts on Monday
Gloria Burson (@emilyburson.rd’s mom!) started baking banana bread when she was a teenager after clipping a recipe from Seventeen. The recipe we serve our students is inspired by Gloria’s healthful spin that she served to Emily and her brother, Adam, and sister, Julie, when they were growing up! #SchoolNutritionPlus
Happy Friday guys! Today on the blog I finally have the first part of our Trip to Colombia Recap! I turned this recap into two parts and wanted to start off with talking about what this trip meant to me as a Colombian, parent and human being! We had a lot of fun but also witnessed a lot of poverty, dangerous and upsetting living conditions. I wanted to share this part of the trip because it made me open my eyes and really be grateful for what I have. It also made reevaluate who I am as a parent and what kind of person I really want to be! To read this first part of my recap, click on the direct link in my bio. It’s on there temporarily! 💚
It's Foodie Friday! If you're looking for some recipes for your family or self check out the blog on our page. I love to cook and I'm always looking for healthier ways to feed my family.
All recipes are Pork-free and always changing as I learn healthier ways! #alwayslearningalwaysgrowing
Got my order from @itsthyme.co.uk today. We love their foods as they are so fresh tasting, such good quality and just like homemade! We both have the British Beef Minute steaks, if I decide to have a calorie controlled day then we can share the cottage pie and lasagne. Ken always lays claim to the small pies - I order them for him as he is a real traditional food lover and he always says how good they are. He has these when I am having a SW meal that he is not keen on. I got a nice big roasting chicken that was in the sale too - that’s Sunday sorted!! Looks like it’s chicken salad for lunch at work on Monday! All their foods arrive frozen. Mine were despatched yesterday and arrived perfectly frozen. Absolutely no deterioration at all. They are wrapped in ice blocks and insulation wool which can be recycled by posting back to Thyme in the box. More info on their website about this. I got the meatballs free but this week they have root vegetable fries free with your first order. I also have a referral link which gets you £5 off your first order - just copy this link
The link gives you £5 off and gives me £5 off my next order too.
I love tray bakes! I think it is because I love experimenting and you can put anything in a traybake. A great way to increase the amount of vegetables! Plus you can prepare them ahead. My family's life wouldn't be complete without them 😁 This Cauliflower and Mushroom Meatball Pie I made yesterday was smashing! A healthy real comfort food. This is the bottom layer.
Ingredients: 2 small (or 1 large cauliflower) - parboiled for few minutes, 6 chestnut mushrooms (quartered), 1 pack of mince meat (I used turkey but pork, lamb, veal or vegetarian option will work equally well.I grated carrot finely into ours-hence the orange colour 😉 plus minced garlic and onion powder), 1/2 cup cashew nuts (soaked for 30 minutes. These are optional but added a different texture). Scatter all in a tray. Season. Pour over beshamel sauce (mine had butter, buckwheat flour, milk and cheddar) and top with sweet mashed potatoes. Bake for about 40 minutes gas 7 or until starting to bubble and brown. Enjoy!
One Pot Wonders... Mum’s live a ‘chuck it all in together’ meal, and I can’t blame them! The less faffing the better, especially when you have the family to take care of and the same time!
This was a scrumptious hot pot, chicken thighs chucked into a hot and ready slow cooker and cooked slightly before adding all the other ingrediants. Basically and vegetables in the fridge! 1 tinned tomatoes, seasoned and then some pearl barley to thicken it up!
Left this mixture for 3 hours to cook away and stay hot until ready to eat, so definitely one to do before the school run and can be left until desired!
Minimal washing up, great consistancey for all ages and full of nutrients!
we call it the BIG c o o k i e . 🍪 This has been a family favorite for years! This will make a s w e e t addition to any dinner or celebration!
Stay Tuned: This recipe is coming soon in my ebook next week! 🎉
This was us about a year ago. T was still needing a lot of help at mealtimes and I was still adjusting to having two little eaters at the table. I didn't realize it at the time, but the chronic stomachaches that plagued me during the winter and spring of last year were directly tied to family meals—I was so preoccupied with helping the kids that I wasn't paying enough attention to feeding myself. I thought I couldn't tolerate grains (and I basically lived on roasted sweet potato and smoothies for a few months...) but it was actually that I wasn't chewing or taking enough time to relax when I was eating. Now, even at 20 months, T still often needs help from a parent during meals, and the same goes for her 5 year old sister even though we try to let them be as independent as possible. I've gotten better at making sure I'm paying attention to myself and my own needs, but man it's hard—and most days I still find myself finally sitting down to meals after everyone else is halfway done. (I'm working on that!) All of this is to say that if family meals make you a little (or a lot) anxious and stressed, know that you are not alone!
Simple blueberry smoothie: Blend 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1 ripe banana, 1 cup lightly packed baby spinach, 1 cup milk of choice, 1 teaspoon ground flaxseed,
1 tablespoon nut/seed butter, until very smooth. Serves 1-2

Emma didn’t eat much of her lunch today. I’m not sure if it was because she wasn’t in the mood for pasta or because she was so sleepy and ready for her nap. Since she didn’t eat much I put together this snack plate for us to share when she wakes up! Got some cherry tomatoes, cucumber, orange bell pepper, blueberries, cheese stick, radishes, black olives and pistachios! So yummy! 💜💚
