So it's weight loss on your mind and the much coveted health goals that you always wanted to achieve are hovering you 24/7.
You do all that it takes , ditched all your favourite chocolates and your comfort food stash , hit the gym and felt like you were doing all that it takes .
But the question arises were you actually doing everything ? And there wasn't any hurdle in your way . Unfortunately the answer is no ! Hormones - an essential element for the functioning of various body organs often unbalances and eventually is the stepmother of your weight loss fairy tale.
Following are the three hormones responsible for taking the weighing scale needle in the opposite direction : .
◇Ghrelin - The hunger hormone.
No hard guesses for this one . It is the strongest enemy warrior as you fight the battle of the extra kilos.
. ◇Cortisol- The stress hormone. We can't deny the fact that the life we live is filled more with stress than oxygen in our lungs. Time to break up with the stress . ( Its great for your skin too) .
◇Estrogen- The female sex hormone.
This is what a woman is made of and an imbalance of the same might make things difficult for the ladies trying to fit in that smouldering red dress with no flabs to show.
But fret not . You can surely get hold on them going out of your hands with a few easy tips.
2.Get enough of your Zzzz (sleep).
3.Sweat it out.
4.Eat a plant based diet .
First leg day of the new program! Switched up the rep scheme and shortened the rest time for the first 2 movements. Walking Lunges are never fun but a necessary evil - the rest was business as usual. Increased the weight but nothing we couldn't handle. Tried accordion crunches for the first time - took a set to engage the core instead of the hip flexors but felt good afterward.
Front/Goblet Squat 5x15/12/10/8/6
DB Romanian Deadlifts
Walking Lunges 3x10
Leg Extensions 3x10
Hamstring Curls 3x10
Seated Calf Raises 5x10
Accordion Crunches 3x20
We're attacking legs twice a week for 4 weeks 😑 - stay tuned for that.
Im starting my fitness challenge today! Thank you @thismamagotsomethingstosay_ for inspiring me this morning! Saw your post & knew I had to live up to my 8yr old sons fave motto: “whatever it takes” (love that song btw by Imagine Dragons 💚) ... This is Day 1! Took before pics this morning, & now I’m off to do my body beast workout, then yoga, & then start day 1 of my declutter challenge! I have an awesome day ahead of me! 💪🏼👊🏼🙌🏼😊 Are you doing a challenge? How is it going?
It’s really been a JOURNEY! I had to pause and let my body grow, get big and create life. 🤱🏽(Well worth it) Today, I’m feeling amazing. I’m feeling lean, strong, healthy and happy. I may make it look easy but it wasn’t.. and I still have tough days. The beginning was a challenge for me. There were days I had to push myself to go to the gym after running on 4 hours of sleep after having my new baby. I had to figure out a schedule that worked for me. Where I could have my gym time, take care of my kids, clean, cook, work. I’m human. I still crave sweets, pasta, chips. Do I give in, no. Those cravings can hit hard sometimes though... that’s not easy. But let me tell you, it’s worth it! I don’t make excuses. I go to the gym regardless and I make it a point to eat RIGHT. I’m almost at 💯 pounds down and you can do it too! It’s worth it to be healthy, to workout, to work on your personal goals and to really LOVE yourself ❤️ (PSA: This page will get more interesting and I will be posting before and after pictures etc etc.. Figured i’d wait a little and get my following up!)
