Before I continue with this thought, I must point out something very important - I am not saying that you should look like shit in your portraits.
What I mean is simple - creating portraits that flatter you is not the goal - it's the starting point for a successful session.
You're not investing all this time and money into a session to simply appeal to your vanity; rather, you're doing it to create visual assets that punctuate your stories and thought leadership that solves your clients pain points.
By carefully crafting a mix of flattering portraits that will resonate with your followers, you have a magical arsenal of assets at your disposal, :)
How do you feel about your current set of portraits? Do they have an effective mix of flattering, yet relevant to your thought leadership?

Hey guys 👋 I'm Shamama (@sumomahere) and welcome to my NEF takeover 😊
I thought I'd start the week off by talking about an organisation that is familiar to at least three of us on this cohort, and that allowed me to instantly understand the value of NEF when I first heard about it.
Enactus is an amazing student society made up of motivated university students all across the world who want to make a change through social business, and business advisors and alumni who help us out with our businesses.
Although Enactus provided tonnes of support for new projects, during my time at Enactus KCL I started up an Incubator programme for the new projects because I realised how tough it can be to try to figure out where to start and where to go next.
NEF is like a turbo charged version of Enactus, offering me and the rest of the cohort an amazing amount of support through training sessions, access to mentors and coaches and a chance for me to meet a huge group of other people with similar interests and aspirations as me. Having been on the programme for 2+ months now, I can honestly say all of these different support systems have really helped me get started with my business (more on that later in the week).
It’s Thanksgiving week and I couldn’t be happier 🤗⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
This week is a week of rest for me. Those of you that are new, copywriting and calligraphy is not my full time gig. During the day I teach high school English and rave about the importance of Literature (or at least I try to!) 😉 ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
This morning I am taking it back to where it all began, my love for beautiful words. As I dip my nib into my favorite Sumi ink, know that I’m sending an extra hug and thank you to all of you!

Time to start your Christmas Marketing Campaigns!⠀
I mentioned last week that proactively planning your marketing is essential if you want to see any success.⠀
Whether you welcome the festive season with open (new Christmas jumper wearing) arms or a grump Grinchy scowl. When it comes to marketing, Christmas is the time for big marketing wins. ⠀
So it's time to put that Campaign Plan (see bio link) into action and create your Christmas marketing plan, like now. ⠀
Trust me - yule win. x
Lately I’ve had a weird new thought: How wonderful that I run a business + therefore no woman I hire has to stay silent about sexual assault under a powerful man to keep her job or advance her career.
The fact I have this thought breaks my heart + was nowhere on my radar 6 years ago when I began.
I love helping women to feel more beautiful, free + powerful. Only recently did I realize I am also helping those women who work for me feel safe.
I don’t like the hashtag GirlBoss because it implies I’m not a CEO, I’m a girl CEO. But lately I’m feeling grateful for that in a new way.
It means not only safe CEO, but a supporter of good men. The 3 guys on our team have such exceptional character. They love seeing the confidence + joy that exudes from our female style students just as much as the women on our team!
I don’t think girls need to rule the world. Integrity does. So while I am not the President, I do not wield great power over anyone, we can each create safety in our corner of the world + speak up in support even when we are the lucky ones for whom #MeToo is not our story. ❤️ #WomenHiringWomen#WomenHiringGoodMen
PS Do you want to start a business or help grow yours to employ another person in 2018? Raise your hand below. We are the ones we are waiting for.

I don't blame the skepticism, I had it too. My doubt came from just being uneducated so I wanted to help clear some misconceptions about coaching:
1) You only make a good living at it if you got in early!
FALSE: With Beachbody's Comp Structure, every coach that joins is at the top of their own organization. If you don't have an organization below you it's just because you haven't built one *yet!* I joined almost 2 years after coaching was launched and I make more than many of those who joined at the very beginning.
2) You have to invest hundreds of dollars to make any income.
FALSE: It costs $39.95 to start your business and have access to everything Beachbody offers. After that, there is just a $15.95 monthly website fee. You can make commissions whether you've ever bought anything or not. Most will spend $40 on a dinner or a shirt without a second thought versus investing in a business that could change their life both physically and financially.
3) You have to be a fitness expert or atleast look like one!
FALSE: The majority of our Top 10 coaches over the years have been hard-working people from all different professions and backgrounds. They were just on a fitness journey and wanted to support and inspire others along the way.
4) I'm a parent and I work full-time so I can't do it!
FALSE: If you have time to read this, then you're able to make time for this. I was there too...a wife, mom, MT and instructor while building my business on top of it. Most Top Coaches have built their businesses while parenting and working full-time. One of our 2 time Top Coaches, Wayne Wyatt, built while raising 6 kids and working full time as an orthodontist...I'd say he's pretty busy!
On top of all of that, Beachbody gives you a 30 day "kick the tires" money back guarantee if it just isn't a fit in your life right now. You know I'm going to say it right... How are you ever going to know if you don't try????
Please feel to message me if this sparks interest in you. I'm an open book and would love to help others exceed what Beachbody has allowed me to achieve!

Check ins and that quad pump from the @cheesecakefactory cheesecake I smashed on last night 🍰 #noragrets
On a serious note, I want to talk about the concept of "cheat meals" for a second. That cheesecake last night was not a cheat meal. In fact, I HATE cheat meals. The term "cheat meals", IMO, suggests that when someone wants to eat whatever they want once in a while without caring about their macros/meal plan/diet/etc. they are cheating. And cheating is not a positive word. It has a negative connotation.
It implies that those foods you just ate are "bad" or "off limits". It makes some people feel guilty or like they shouldn't have eaten said food.
FOOD SHOULD NOT MAKE US FEEL GUILTY.
We shouldn't feel like we are cheating on our goals because we decided to go out and have a burger and fries.
Food is food.
Some food is more nutritious and some food is less nutritious. But that doesn't make the less nutritious food forbidden.
Instead of incorporating "cheat meals", I like to just have a meal where I eat what I want regardless of the macros or the nutrition.
Sometimes that means pizza, other times that means cheesecake.
But it isn't a cheat meal for me.
It's just enjoying something that I don't eat on a regular basis.
Sometimes I'll refer to it as an untracked meal if I'm counting my macros.
But what I refuse to do anymore is call it a cheat meal 🚫
I'm not cheating.
All in moderation. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
