Don't mind the smile, mind this deep thought or this deep agony.
I was lost in the thought of bringing a more creative me, a more disciplined me and a more goal focused me.
Sometimes I don't really want to be in the colorful clothes, in the flashy shoes or wearing the radiant smiles.
Because it is highly faked and mostly it is a great distraction from the real attention I seek... Of a truth, I seek that attention that listening hear from the masses,
not just to see how handsome I am or how ugly I will become
but to see what I have to offer,
how our lives can be more beautiful than the clearest waterfall and brightest starts in the clouds.
I just hope all can see this my thought because this is actually where I got lost into.
Don't be carried away by my clothes for they are hard earned money, therefore I don't plan to buy another anytime soon
but I vowed to myself to post more valuable things here often and for us to understand and develop passion in a deeper way
because the abundance of a man isn't in is clothes but in his intellects. For that's what we all need.
And that's why I am ranting.
We know that #HalfTerm is coming to an end, but we hope you've had a fun-filled week of activities!
Let's reflect on the week we've had, and think about what you would like to achieve next week too!
Starting a new series today: Illness in an Image!
Every couple of days I’ll be posting a single image summarizing things we often see or must rapidly recognize in the emergency department. This should be fun!
Today - Cardiac Tamponade. It’s terrifying. Fluid fills the pericardial space, compressing the heart as it attempts to relax and fill during diastole. As the heart fills less, stroke volume decreases and thus so does cardiac output. This can quite rapidly lead to cardiovascular collapse and death if not recognized early.
The causes are numerous but definitely consider it with penetrating chest trauma, end-stage renal disease, pericarditis, post-MI, and cancer to name a few. The faster the space fills, the less volume it can tolerate as it doesn’t have time to stretch out.
Hypotension, distended neck veins, muffled heart sounds, an EKG with electrical alternans...all signs that you better get that pericardiocentesis kit ready!

One of the things I've been attempting to do a lot more is to listen to my team more intently, listen to the community and to look out for ways I can continue learning. I don't want to be the same leader/human-being🙋🏻 I was in 2008 or in 2014 or even yesterday. I want to be able to look back at the end of each week and see areas I've grown and progressed in - no matter how small or trivial they may seem. Last year, I got leaders of our team to share what areas they felt I was 'not so awesome' in among other things - which could seem weird to others looking in because they'd probably be thinking, "Why would you even ask that? Aren't you meant to be the Chief of Awesome?". To that I would say leadership and learning go hand in hand. So in this season of listening and learning, I'm opening up the opportunity to YOU reading this - especially if you are a mate of mine or have worked with me in some capacity...or even if you've just watched my journey from the sidelines. I would love for you to drop me a DM or Whatsapp or email or whatever you feel comfortable doing with a few lines answering the following to enable me to reach new levels of growth in the coming months ahead. ⠀
✨1. How would you describe me as a leader? ⠀
✨2. In what ways do you think I have room to grow?⠀
✨3. What aspects of my leadership are absolute magic to the community/to you?⠀
I know this could seem weird because you want to read all about 'success' lessons or 'tips and tricks' or perhaps social media feeds have a knack for showcasing the edited versions of ourselves, but the fact is I'm on a learning journey, I'm imperfect and flawed just the same as anyone else and in the words of Dani (of 'The Meditation Teacher') who gave me a new perspective today, "None of us have any idea what we’re really doing in the scheme of things". Can't wait to hear from you!⠀
Officers from Charles County Sheriff's Office personally greet students as they arrive at school to let them know they care. They wanted students to know that they are here for them. #school#students#education
This is one of my favourite videos. If you have the belief that there are only lessons and that a failure is lesson rather than something that brings you down - you will succeed. All the greats had setbacks and lessons. If we are not learning then we are not growing. So if your failing or losing, then great - your learning and growing 💪💪. Leave a comment YES if you agree?
