it took a special customer with imagination and vision to step up and snag this incredible dead-stock 1960s LUMO fiberglass wall tile lighting system by Delta Dimension (swipe left👈🏾) from Michelle and I at #downtownmodernism#dtla last Sunday. Thanks to Marie and Brooke @modernflamingo for offering it to us, and also thanks to Shiela @studio111palmsprings & Frank @modernica for pointing him in our direction. We delivered it to his amazing gallery space in Venice after the show.
Just when I thought we'd reached critical mass for art...we come across these two signed #CliftonKarhu prints and fall in love. He was an American woodblock artist who lived in Japan. These two pieces date from '70 and '68. The first is an image of a modern Shinjuku and the other a building in historical Kyoto. His art was initially criticized as not portraying the Japan that Japanese see, nonetheless he enjoyed great success and is credited with seeing the not-always-noticed geometry beneath the surface. Both have the original frames too 😍 thanks @districtmodern! #modernica#downtownmodernism
A text came through from a #downtownmodernism fleamarket by my good friends @AmandaMalson and Steve Jones @BetterShelter. Long story short this tasty surreal creation is being displayed on my kitchen counter at the moment… Thank you Steve and Amanda!
