Even though I only had a four day week, I swear this week felt like a million years 😓 But it's the weekend!! I spent some good time with some friends 😆 and got a good run in today, so I had a great day! How about you? -
P.s. These oats are topped with some seed mix, berries, @dangfoods coconut chips, and PB! Super random but good 😂😍
Saturday’s with you are my favorite.
Got our workout in this morning, went shopping, and now staying in for the night and relaxing.
What are your Saturday night plans?

Another 9 miles in the bag! Now if only we can keep it up injury free? Crossing my fingers. At least we were better prepared for this one. Hydrated, no concrete, hell, I even had music! Think we've earned our burgers tonight. #distancerunner#9miles#trailrunning#nature
Let’s talk about stress and anxiety😅. I know, not the most fun of subjects, but it’s a real issue.
I’m usually pretty good at letting stuff go...but once in a while my stress and anxiety builds up to the point where it literally hurts to wake up in the morning. I know my stress has definitely gotten the best of me when running is no longer enjoyable for me 😔.
It’s times like this when my disordered eating patterns try to creep their way back into my life. When this happens, I have to take a step back from all the stresses in my life, including running. So I took most of this week off and only ran when I felt like it. I ate more nutritious foods but also lots of foods that make me happy. I relaxed more and slept more. I did things for ME! .
Hoping to feel better next week in time for marathon training to begin 👊🏽
Saturday morning long runs are something I always look forward to!
They're not always so glorious, sometimes my legs drag under me and I'm struggling to keep even the easiest paces.
However, runs like today's are what makes it all worth it. The weather was perfect, and the pace felt nice and smooth☺️ Perfect end to the week! (Swipe left for splits)

a couple of my medals from cross country season✨ there’s a lot more but are too scattered to find them all😂 I want to do some locals 5k’s this summer because metals are always so interesting for them 😝
Sorry I’ve been MIA w posting. A few updates:
1. Have been moving away from using the WW app as I’ve gotten more and more accustomed to the freestyle program, and my goal is maintenance (for the most part)
2. Been doing Orangetheory 5 days a week, or 4 days with one distance run (which I did today)
3. Gearing up for my first half marathon this year on 5/20... after today’s 11 miler, I’m feeling pretty great! #chicagomarathon#distancerunner
Happy Saturday! Congrats to all my friends who crushed the Phoenix Marathon today! I have some major race FOMO happening right now! 😂 I got in 10 miles on what started out as a 29 degree morning! 😳😂 Spent the first few miles of this run feeling 🤢 for some reason, no idea why, but I pulled it together for a solid effort! 💪🏼👊🏼 #fightforit
18.0 miles / 2:39:40 / 2038 calories burned 🔥🏃🏽♂️
Although my facial expression might show otherwise, this was not the post I had hoped I’d write. 18.0 miles is obviously not the same as 26.2 miles 🙀
My mind was there, but my body was not. After running about 12.5 miles, I started having pain in my left knee — definitely should’ve stretched/warmed-up more than I did! 😅
FUN FACT about treadmills.. (or at least the one I was using 🤷🏽♂️) .. it cuts out after 99 minutes! So considering my pain situation and the fact that I’d have to restart my treadmill, I decided to take a quick bathroom break. And I immediately noticed I had hematuria (that’s blood in your urine for any non-med peeps).. believe it or not, it can occur after strenuous exercise 🤔 But I still wanted to leave the gym in one piece — as bad as I wanted to finish the full marathon, I decided it was better to listen to my body.
Was I a little too ambitious? Probably. But nothing great was ever achieved without first setting a goal. Of course I’m disappointed I didn’t run the full 26.2, but sometimes we need to fail to move forward. And at the end of the day, I’m still proud of myself for lasting 18 miles.
I definitely have more respect now for people who have completed a full 26.2, or multiple at that! 👍🏼
Some day I will run a full marathon. Today is not that day. And that’s okay.
