Pip's story 🐰: Husbun and I discussed adding another bunny to our home before Xmas as we kept reading about overfilled shelters. One Saturday, I had a feeling to check the Petrescue website and saw Pip's listing. We felt like it was a sign that Pop would have another brother!
We drove an hour to meet him, and we were told that he was living in a cage in the rescuers room and was being fed muesli! On the ride home, instead of being terrified, he just fell into a deep sleep and my heart melted. I hope you knew then baby, that you were now safe and heading to your forever home 🏡💑. #adoptdontshop

Just 3-4 months ago, the doctors were telling me that my sweet and precious little MROO was not gong to be around very long. They weren’t sure what was wrong with her, they just knew there was fluid on her chest that even surgery couldn’t get off.
With the help of Clavamox, what seems apparent now is that she had a nasty bacterial infection.
The enclosed pics are a series of her by age.
In pic 3, you can see her droopy eyes
Pic 6, taken about a month age, shows her completely healthy.
This month, MROO will celebrate 1 year of living.
Here’s to many more years of squeaking and purring MROO.
I love you more today than yesterday but not near as much as I will tomorrow. 😻
In honor of my birthday the other day, here’s a little “Happy Birthday” on this player piano. What’s the big deal? Well, last time this player piano played this roll for me was 1971 on my 6th birthday (I was just 53!) See second picture. That’s me and my father at my 6th birthday party. It was part of the decor at Alaskaland, an old fashioned ice cream parlor in Harrisburg, PA. and Altoona. Third picture shows old entrance, long gone. Up until a few months ago, I didn’t realize it still existed. And still works! Now it’s inside Old Sled Works as part of my little car museum. I’m still a little freaked out about acquiring a piece of my childhood. You can find me most days putting dimes in it. Takes me back 47 years!
After 5 months of heartache... it was finally judgement day 📆
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
He had been back to the vet for a follow up x-ray at 4 months post injury. They conceded that the fracture was fusing correctly and there was the joint was less degenerated than expected.
With my hopes bolstered, I finished his last 2 months of confinement with cautious optimism. 🎄Then... my Christmas miracle came early 🎄
I let Atlas out of his pen to roam free for the first time in 5 months and watched - with my heart in my mouth - his joy at being loose. There didn’t even seem to be a hitch in his stride.
A horse that had no future, running around as if nothing had changed. 💫
But of course everything had changed. In reality he still has arthritis and it must be managed appropriately. But the most important thing is that this wonderful animal will see many more years to come. ❤️
I’m finally sharing the little Christmas miracle we pulled off for the kids: the first photo is what the living room looked like when the kids went to bed Christmas Eve, the next two show what it looked like when they got up Christmas morning. It was worth staying up realllly late to get that done, but it did spark some unintended tears Christmas morning: the kids ran to my studio where the Christmas tree had been all month (a big 😘 to @kirstendejesus for bringing us one!) and when it wasn’t there thought Christmas was cancelled. It didn’t cross their minds to check the living room.😅 In addition to the presents, it was a big hit all around to finally sit on a couch again! #christmasmiracle#operationharmonsquadhq#fixerupper#homerenovation#homeremodel#vsco
