Flying birbs. I find myself shooting landscapes more than people outside of the event photography that I do, but I’ve been looking into lighting and flashes so expect some series with portraits coming soon.
This photo isn't crazy but it is a memory and a perfect representation of how we were feeling. All crusty eyed from lack of sleep, chilled to the bone hiding out behind some rocks to get away from the wind, yet happy to be out there on top of a mountain looking down, while patiently waiting for the clouds to clear from behind Mt. Shasta and for the sunrise to show on the hills. I think the in between moments are just as important as the crazy moments because its those moments that get us to where we want to go.

Some much needed moments to myself yesterday morning in Golden Ears. Song: Truth by Shillou
Talk about a surprise! I had a little extra time today and was headed to the post office, so I decided to stop by the @johnson_city_press. My bride, Lexie, had told me about a month ago, that a writer at the @kingsport_times_news wanted to feature their wedding and asked if it were okay to use their photos- of course I said yes! I had originally thought that maybe it would be an online feature, but wow, was I surprised! I picked up a few copies today to find Lexie and John Michael on the cover, alongside a beautiful spread inside! 😱 Needless to say, I’m stoked and honored to be featured, especially alongside some other amazing local photographers. 🌿 If you’re in the Tri-Cities area, you should pick up a copy of Go-Tricities weddings!
#TBT to October and my first double crossing of the Grand Canyon.
It was great day spent with good friends pushing limits and helping others along the way.
Our little group ended up offering support to four different hikers ranging from reuniting an injured backpacker with his group to giving my Swedish Fish to a teenage girl who was out of food. Fortunately, @moodmichael had extra fuel to share with me later when I started bonking or I may still be there. Can’t wait to go back this year.

It’s funny how exclusive something like ice climbing can seem from the outside. I had a great conversation with the folks at @arcteryxwhistler yesterday about how there is so much great ice right here such as this little gem, ‘Mystery Roach Motel’ right in the whistler townsite. Climbing beta for this one definitely involves drinks at the @glcwhistler afterwards 🍻 pictured here is Brent from @spearheadmountainguides who is a great resource for local to Whistler climbing beta

Life can be super messy sometimes.. If you look at me like I’ve got it all figured out don’t be deceived! Life is moving a million miles per hour these days and honestly, most of the time I feel like a chicken with its head cut off! This is why spending time in nature is so important to me. It’s an opportunity to pause and reconnect. It’s easy to get lost in the madness. Lately, my bestie @diabeticyogini and I have been in manifest mode together and so as we refresh our souls with that cold mountain air we also pour out our hearts to each other. Today we hiked up to hanging lake and we were up there alone for almost an hour... if you’ve ever hiked hanging lake in the summer you know how insane that is! I feel refreshed and ready to take on my next day.. even if it includes more “headless chicken” moments. #dreamliferevolution (📷: @diabeticyogini)

I will never forget my first time driving down this road. It was an interesting experience considering the fact that I had seen these famous peaks in millions of photos. I instantly recognized them without ever physically being there previously, and as we finally made it down to the lake my brain was twitching out like "wow I'm actually here". I'm not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing but perhaps seeing tons of photos of this place potentially dulled down my initial experience more so than I realized at the time. However, at the end of the day I'm just glad that the photos I saw of this specific location inspired me enough to want to come check it out in the first place. I think that's what it should be all about. What do you think?
