Lifting heavy?!! ☠️🙅🏻🙅🏻☠️
A common worry among clients, especially my females is if you lift too heavy, you will get bulky.
With my body type I naturally gain muscle easily. In years past I was often concerned about lifting too much or too heavy because I didn't want to gain too much "bulk." Even when I was competing this was a concern of mine.
I used to go lighter weight with higher reps and didn't aim to reach "failure" at that time. Plus I was also overdoing it on the cardio.
This approach was not effective and ended up backfiring. I didn't love the way I was looking/feeling and my metabolism wasn't strong like I wanted. I was softer and less toned than I wanted to be.
As of the last year tho, I switched It up and went heavier weight each set, decreasing my reps each set and aimed for failure at the end of each set. Mainly 12,10, 8 reps for the three sets.
I have found that my body has responded much better to that type of program vs the lighter weight + more cardio route I was doing before.

Talking about food + body image is easy for me, so when you guys thank me for being "real" and "open" it feels good, but it mostly feels just like my duty. The hard stuff for me is talking about relationships, mental health, and my journey to 'adulting' and starting a biz from scratch. But I'm going to take the risks and open up in due time. We're living in a world full of "clean living" and 'non toxic' this and that. These are impossible standards to live up to. We have bills, families to support, and so much weighing on each of us that sometimes it seems impossible. It's okay to not eat perfectly. It's okay to not use only natural products. It's okay to take medication if deemed appropriate. It's okay to get plastic surgery if something is changeable and will provide you with infinite confidence. It's okay to use Botox here and there.
